People who like manga don't care about comics (unless they're all arounders when it comes to comics but they already likely read both) so why do you people keep trying to get people who read manga into comics? It's a pointless waste of effort, just enjoy your niche and ignore the bullshit. This whole war is idiotic because manga people just don't care at all and never will, so why argue with someone who won't change?
>>155672096It doesn't exist because comics have never been able to compete when manga became a thing. Comics stopped being widely read after WW2. Once manga became widely available, it began overwhelming comic sales even before comics got really really bad. By 2011 it was too late for them to save themselves. Now we're here & manga has taken over Barnes & Noble walls that used to be comics dedicated.
>>155672209No
>>155672209>Comics stopped being widely read after WW2The crash didn't happen until the 90's you fucking newfaggot
>>155672209See, he doesn't care all he cares about is sells even though comics can sell very little and make money back and that's all that should matter. He only cares about comics from Japan that fall into a small genre or demographic.
The "war" is less about comics vs manga and more about theater kids vs nerds.Comics (and cartoons) have largely been taken over by theater kids, most of the old school nerds were either driven out or have morphed into some amalgamation of an autist, a theater kid, and a boomer.Manga however is still largely made by and for nerds, because of how new talent is found and more importantly, WHERE that talent is found, the industry has a much more varied pool of people making manga, everything from people who spent a decade working on a farm to nerdy fantasy autists to nerdy salaryman accountants to the Japanese equivalent to nerdy 4channers.The comic industry has no such variety, it is either old boomers or young theater kids, with almost nothing in between. This "war" is mostly nerds lamenting the fact that comics are niche but aren't made by and for nerds anymore, they're mostly made by people who despise nerds, many of whom are nerdy boomers and Gen Xers who just hate themselves and take it out on their audience.
>>155672724Just say you don't care and move on.
>>155672096I don't understand why people who don't read both are part of the conversation. If you don't know the other side intimately, you have nothing to add.
>>155672096I wish everyone would actually read both. Including people in the industry.
>>155674554Nah
>>155676017Why the fuck not?
>>155672724This
I have something to sayFuck the anon who keeps pushing manga and making comparisons over why manga is so much betterIf you feel that way post it on another board and leave comic readers in peace you dickWe’re just minding our business and you come along in practically every thread and annoy the fuck out of meYou like manga? >>155677387Nta, but I want comics to be better. I want us to talk about better comics, be more selective, and not fellate as many bad comics.
>>155672096False.
>>155672096>so why argue with someone who won't change? But how else am I supposed to get (You)s???
