Not even joking, every person who has played Asura’s Wrath got teary-eyed or straight up cried during the final Yasha boss fight or the ending. It’s a QTE simulator but the game does so pretty well to immerse the player. The gameplay is not rich or anything but people make it out like it’s the worst thing in existence when it’s not, at worst it’s just boring. It also put Kratos in some kind of a mentor or elder role to Asura, and let Kratos show how far he had come by defeating someone who had been down the same path as him. He wasn't just fighting Asura, he was TEACHING Asura. And I think that's very heartwarming in a way. That Kratos would take the lessons he learned and help someone who was just like him.If this weren't a Death Battle I'm sure they would have ended cordially and taught each other well. The alternate ending is weird, even if heartwarming in its own way. It was nice to see Kratos reunite with his daughter, but it feels weird to have him just stand there and take that punch.I haven't played Asura's game though (but after watching this fight I think I might watch a playthrough!) so I might be missing stuff but as a big GoW fan I thought they did Kratos justice and from what I saw they treated Asura with the utmost respect.
