Dave is when Hussie realizes what he wants to do with characters in this story, and his introduction serves as the blueprint for everyone elses. Act 1 is overall, meandering and very focused on comedy, almost entirely. How well it charms you is dependent on how much you connect with such humor. I find it funny, and being only about 200 pages, i find it more than enough to be entertaining. However, i shall go moreover on my thoughts over my own retrospective.

Rose lacking in information and leadership to Vriska for the prep for Collide is one of the most embarrassing moments in Homestuck but it doesn't get talked about a lot because Rose finally met Roxy and Rosemary stayed and that all kept everyone happy. Rose arguably the most active player apart from Caliborn, she was someone who constantly tried to get the best of the game and to stay in control, and just watching her become some docile prospit bitch just so Vriska can shine is so disgusting.
