She didn't the the world but stopped the outright totally destruction of it leaving seven heavens (hey look at that!) left that people could survive in. Given the look of technology in the animations in the other thread though, they still managed to advance technology to futuristic levels so this show is going to be really fucking weird.

She didn't, obviously. Bryke have always resented how unpopular Korra was and still is to this day, thank you Netflix for posting actual numbers, and they know a lot of it came down to most people did not like Korra, period. You can argue there's still this totally huge number of them out there but gosh darn it they just didn't have time to finish the series, since more than 2/3rds, almost a full 3/4ths fell off both when it originally aired and when it re-released on netflix, but the fact is they thought she was going to be their next big thing and never got over her flopping as hard as she did. If anything they're going to double/triple/quadruple down to say she actually was the best and possibly throw in it was Aang's fault or something just because they hated he was so much more beloved than their "Serious and mature" protagonist.

Get ready for the flimsiest and most in your face justification to prove Korra was totally the best avatar ever.

Likely industrialists attempting to leverage the spiritual vines or energy from the portals destroyed some balance in the planet that caused havoc. Avatar Aang movie showed us there is a permanent storm on the other side of the globe, so maybe there is a connection.

Korra likely was blamed anyway before any conspiracy because she DID choose to keep the portals open, and then (even if accidentally) opened a new one in the middle of republic city.

I still hope Asami left Korra and had children with Mako. The ultimate humilliation and fuck all those LGBT fans
