Aside from the shitty shot compositions and the uninteresting main character who's character trait is the quirky dorky outcast, this movie just looks boring. Some backgrounds look like backdrops on a theatre stage, the character's dialogue is grating and the voice acting is shit which at times almost sounds like improvs.

Have you considered that maybe you're not the target audience and that you're a grown man possibly in your 30s complaining about a film for kids?

Somehow, WISH did this right and had a lively background environment, despite being a shitty movie. Released on Disney's 100th anniversary no less.

I agree with you.
Unfortunately, Disney had a complex of one of his classic movies which aged like food after being digested..

Why do you think the fact that we aren't the "target audience" shields this shit from criticism?
Literally no one was saying this until the SJWs showed up in the 2010s.
>>
>>155691612
The target audience doesn't give a fuck either.

I never tire of seeing this argument defeat itself

I really don't get why 3D animated movies haven't gotten better at portraying humans.

Even though I prefer 2D, I assumed that once all of Hollywood switched to 3D they would soon stop making the characters look like dolls, just like early 2D animation got more sophisticated in the way characters looked and moved.

But it's 2026 and they still look like dolls and almost any 2D animation makes humans look better than 3D. This can't be inherent to the technology.

Modern Disneys aesthetics are nearly identical to Thomas Kinkades kitschy artwork.

Nudisney is the Thomas Kinkade of animation.
>>
>>155692481
It isn't. See, Disney got a giant hit with Frozen and have tried to replicate it with little to no success since.
This character's design and animated mannerisms are just like Elsa's. There's no identity here, just repeating the formula that worked once.

Listen I know this is bait but I never NEVER understood this shit. Its fucking OLD PEOPLE who make these movies and they are not above criticism. If fucking 10 year old Susie was making this film Id judge accordingly but if some old out of touch fucks want to sell some shitty story to some fucking kids I have a right to be mad. If Uncle Henry wants to tell one of his fucking boomer ass stories to my niece and I see her bored out of her fucking mind Im telling Uncle Henry to shut the fuck up and if he says
>BU-BUH THE STORY WAS MEANT FOR HER!!
I could give less of a rats ass

Not to mention, Disney is or was the Gold Standard for US animation and in many ways, Western animation, if not at one point being a global juggernaut. Which it no longer is.
Then there's MILLIONS tied up into these projects as well.

Anon Disney hasn’t been deserving of being seen as the gold standard of animation since 1942, their silver age stuff is good but that’s when they really started sanitizing their shit and that stuff is mogged by any Bob Clampett, Tex Avery, and Chuck Jones shorts. Their "renaissance" era films are kitschy key jingling trash and their "revival" era films are even more hideous. That kind of modern shit brainwashed people into thinking they’re the gold standard.
>>
>>155692522
Kincaid's art is blessedly free of eyebrow-quirking goofball characters so I consider it superior to the Nu Disney aesthetic in that one regard.

>Your opinion is invalid because you are ___ gender, and ___ age, and ___ race
If a product doesn't have wide appeal, how would it expect to attract enough people to sell tickets? Parent attend these films with their kids, and the kids may have lower standards for what they consume, but that doesn't mean they have NO standards.
Would it not be a better strategy to sell 4 tickets per family rather than only 2?
>Muh target market
If the parents hate it, there's also a likelihood that the kids won't be lenient towards it either. Or might be less inclined to buy merch relating to it.

Also, ALL of these movies and shows for children are created by adults, not other kids.

Frozen was an all around shit movie.
It's success is due to Disney's marketing machine and it being the last basic bitch princess LIKE movie they've created.

And no one really watches it anymore and the disney pushed incest lesbian and stronk future spinster feminist propoganda in the movie and in social media has permanently killed it's marketability.

The marketing landscape has been murdered by Google and bot/esl shill flooded social media and with no one anywhere believing msm articles they have no ability to whore a movie and pretend it's really popular and gain realworld popularity for anything anymore.
>>
>>155695122
Those years are over anon. The entire Disney brand is tarnished.
Only disney adults and people DESPERATE for a family friendly social touch stone care anymore.
And the demon hunters cartoon has 1000% supplanted frozen.

>>
>>155691612
Okay but, counterpoint.
Kids don't go to movie theaters by themselves. Usually the parent has to take their kids to the movies, and the parent aren't going to simply drop them off there for an hour and a half, they are going to watch it with them. So as a movie maker, you would want to create a movie that would entertain the adult as well as the child.

I think the giant monster is neat, but the magic system just being visualization has no meat for little kids to latch onto. That's a shame, but it's probably trying to bilk Wiccan moms into not tuning out like normies do the moment a wisp of high fantasy enters their FOV.
>>
>>155691553
I don't like the modern animation, there's a lot of squash and stretch but it doesn't serve any purpose, the face reminds me of the annoying orange with the eyes and mouth not really feeling like they are part of the whole head.
>>
>>155695023
The idea of Dale knowing a lot about older Disney movie and trashing new ones is really funny to me.
>>
>>155692410
Like I've said many times here. A film "for kids" isn't actually for kids, it's just a film that goes out of its way to alienate adults. Kids will watch anything.
