>>155691737I remember finding this episode weird because the premise was so old-fashioned and "sitcommy" and could have been done at any time in the previous 40 years. Not that that's a terrible thing, but it wasn't something I expected from The Simpsons at the time.Maybe they just wanted to do an old-school sitcom story, maybe it was a parody of sitcoms that didn't come off, or maybe it was just written backwards from the idea of having an arranged marriage that actually happens for once.
