Why don't they cure cancer?
>>155694094Because in the Marvel Universe where they did, it did not end well.
>>155694094Because that would be insensitive to people who actually have cancer and flagrant misunderstanding of what cancer even actually is. You're an idiot.
>>155694094Reed Richards did ages ago, it's in a desk somewhere. The Baxter Building is funded by his innovations, but he also recognizes that with each patent and new technological wonder introduced in the commercial/public market brings new dangers. Example: gene editing tech in theory can cure cancer, but it also means weaponized viruses. So Reed doesn't share that knowledge because we as a society have not yet developed to be responsible with it. You want real world comparisons? Social media.
>>155694094Because the idea of cancer having a permanent cure keeps the people who make their money on treating the symptoms up at night. The very idea the hope of creating a cure and a heroic man or woman creating a cure that eradicates that plague in a comic book would create hope. Would inspire people to work towards it and fight for it and not be easily swayed by people who want to maintain the status quo.>>155694120The cancer universe is where death was killed. Not cancer.
"Cancer" is controlled opposition that has multiple figured out solutions and ways to get around it already because the name "Cancer" holds great value.
>>155694173>The cancer universe is where death was killed. Not cancer. It started with them curing Mar-Vell's cancer.
>>155694094They can't.
>>155694094They're too busy working on a method to kill the Joker.
>>155694094Because capeshit IS the cancerTHEY WERE THE REAL MONSTERS ALL ALONG
>>155694094Too busy fighting over stupid shit
>>155694209Why isn't death a hot skeleton mommy wtf
>>155695511Becaue he never need the mask.
Because the real cancer is the existence of any life that has not been corrupted into cackling embodiments of pure evil.
The world outside your window can't handle characters actions having logical conclusions.
>>155694094Because they didTurns out its a lot of different treamentsSome work better than others and many of them need to be caught earlyIt doesnt always work though>t. We already do that>i have no idea who sold you all that it would be a pill or something that fixed it instantly>gene therapy would be the only one stop cure all but until you have a machine that can read quintillions of cells for their dna to know which are malformed and do that before the heat death of the universe let alone the patients death is a whole other matter
>>155694094Same reason they don't surveillance state the world into a utopia, or globalize clean energy, or invent a microwave for freezing things: status quo. Comics are our world with a twist. Our world + cancer is curable is another twist. Keep adding them and it's annoying keeping up with the lore as it piles on. New York has a spider themed webslinger, and no cancer, and flying cars, and ai mini butlers, and everyone's low level psychic and empathetic and perfect drivers after the last symbiote event, and dentistry is solved so even the ugly guys have great teeth, and education is adorable so crime is down, and and and and. Better to just be us + capes. Writers have an easier time, and we keep relatability.
>>155694094how do you know they didn't?
>>155694120That panel looks cool.
>>155694094That would be racist against cancer
>>155694094They already did
