How do you feel about early digitally colored comics still being colored by hand but processed digitally? I guess it explains why it looks better than some modern coloring.

It's almost a close comparison for once, but there are little things my eyes keep seeing.
The lights of the buildings are weirdly dimmed or missing.
The bricks going from grey to teal was an awful choice.
The gradient in most of the sound effects makes them look less impactful, which is a fascinating paradox.
There's similarly unimpressive lighting work elsewhere like on Spawn's cape and on Batman's torso in the 2nd panel.

It does look less egregious than usual, but despite a more integrated approach FP is right. Things that worked are dulled or lost for some reason once you compare.
Since Batman's cape and some outlines seem the least affected I'd go as far to say they should have just darkened the blacks and left the rest. I don't know how well it would work, and I imagine it would be more work for no reward, but since we have the technology I'd like to see more hybrid styles.
It surely couldn't hurt, after all, someone can and probably will just recolor everything.
