Is it just me, or does this show have a serious issue with making almost all of its antagonists jobbers?First it was with Kara, who you’d could argue not being untouchable makes sense considering she’s just glorified fodder, but now even fucking Kroe, the face of “Green” has ate shit twice in a row (first in episode 5 where Shrike’s barely functional ship is able to successfully pry away the “Green” remains from him, and now again in episode 6 where a decrepit planetary defence system nearly kills him despite the fact we’ve been shown “Green” can easily hack/circumvent technology).Even L.A.W. and the Primaries has been shown to be nothing but bumbling retards who are so busy scolding people they don’t even notice a criminal (the Eiffel 55 guy) seamlessly infiltrate their ranks and run off with an Endling, who is additionally made of a material that can transmuted into indestructible armour/weapons.The only character I can think of that has been spared this so far is Agent K, and even then he semi-loops back around to impotency because like someone mentioned ITT, it looks like he’s shaping up to be some kind of G Man-type guy whose completely busted but isn’t allowed to directly impact anything so his power is useless aside from bending ears and fucking with people.

But I would agree he's a bit disappointing for how cool the character seemed. L.A.W. on the lower level, at least led by the reds, seem like total goons and I do hate that. Tezzorree seems like the main issue with that but I wonder if that's not tied to some potential of the other two turning on the red dominance later, having both the other two commanders look back at her in the beginning seems deliberate. I think her frustration and incompetence as a result might be a parallel to Shrikes issues since there is that connection, but that's hoping that he's a smarter writer than the show is letting on so far.

While I can't say Zeurel signing MW onto Netflix's contract could be a good thing in the long term; short term it's a massive financial boon to help him get episodes (and perhaps more) out faster. That said however Netflix is very much a dumping ground for media projects. Some good, but a lot are pretty bad. I don't know. I think MW is going to struggle regardless because it's exceedingly average. Dare I say uninteresting for something that's hitting a 30 minute runtime. There's potential but so far its been spinning its wheels setting up the Cataclysm and Shrike's backstory. It's very disconnected for something that wants to be taken seriously.

Zeural's problem is this notion that he needs to be taken extra fucking serious as some sort of "real animator" who does "professional" animation. That's the reason he made the retarded fucking decision to not just upload all of his Monkey Wrench episodes to his already established main channel that had over a million subscribers because he thinks a "professional animated series" needs its own channel. And that's the reason he think's Monkey Wrench is too good for brisk 14 minute episodes, because he probably thinks that if it isn't a full thirty minutes than it isn't "serious and professional". I think one of the storied animators they brought on was primarily tasked with working with the crews to get a better structure in place for the animators and his knowledge may not transfer to what 3D projects need in terms of procedure.

The first episode I watched was episode 5. For whatever reason, I didn't notice it was episode 5 and went "wow, what a great first episode!". I then noticed it said episode 5, watched the other episodes and went "wtf, how did nothing happened in all these episodes?". The writing and pacing are awful.

He's acting like an emo bad boy which completely conflicts with his character. We only got any backstory in 5 and 6, and Beebs got this really interesting story where he's got a lot of family trauma but clearly trying to be upbeat and positive, I thought that was interesting. Now he just has to be the wet blanket and we're likely never going to get back to his story again.like most pet projects.... it's evident that these characters are just some dude's OCs barely strung together. If he had a writing team this could've been one of the best shows ever but, it's too late.ep 5 was 10/10 though.

He used to be a cop, which makes me think he was a sort of ward of the state before escapingBeebs, despite being huge and strong, is apparently a malformed runt of his kind, which are authoritarian and his deformation brought shame on his family so he ran away, and it haunts and embarrasses him. It's why he acts so calm, levelheaded and sensitive- he behaves the opposite of how people expect his kind to be, violent, emotional and brashdesu this is a pretty interesting dynamic that competent writers could do a lot with but it's all just OC backstory until it's properly writtendid you watch the show?
