The pilot was essentially a glorified amateur-made Newgrounds cartoon. The fact that they hate the early seasons also says something about how snarky they’ve become.Matt Groening before the Simpsons made an incredibly lame comic called Life in Hell, which was an underground comic, but a very lame one at that, even the artstyle wasn’t as interesting as those of Robert Crumb and Peter Bagge. He also hated too much stylization on his cartoons and characters being too expressive which damaged adult animation in the long run.Seth before Family Guy has worked on shows like Dexters Lab and I.M Weasel and is a very talented singer as well, making him a guy with range.
