Should DC crowbar Tim Drake and put him in the fridge? Tim Drake honestly got nothing really going for him as a character.
>>
>>155706404
YEAH B-B-B-BUT HES THE GAY ONE
hes so shit that in faggyDC didnt include him and just had grayson be the queerbait with midnighter
>>
>>155706404
Why did Gen X comic book fans take all of their favorite characters and make them lame and gay. What explains this?

Gen X are also by far the largest cohort of Trump voters
>>
>>155706404
Put him on a team. The point of having so many Bat characters is that they can be in comics that Batman wouldn't otherwise be in.
>>
>>155706449
The worst part is even with them saying he’s bi they’re never ever going to pair him up with a chick again.
He’s doomed to be the homo Robin paired with dudes forever, just another case of bi erasure.
>>
>>155706404
They should kill Damian
>>
>>155706404
>Tim Drake honestly got nothing really going for him as a character.
Dick is even worse, but they still keep pushing him, so clearly that’s not the issue.
>>
>>155706603
>Why did Gen X comic book fans take all of their favorite characters and make them lame and gay. What explains this?
Cynicism and edginess, mixed with an overly emotional attempt to seem cool and progressive.
>>
>>155710888
Spoken like a salty characterfag that doesn't understand why their mediocre 90s legacy isn't as popular as the character he was cloned from, despite DC aggressively sandbagging the O.G. to push the replacement.
Is that you, Didio?
>>
>>155706833
>The point of having so many Bat characters is that they can be in comics that Batman wouldn't otherwise be in.

No, the point is so that Batman can have different personalities to bounce off of and compliment his brooding nature. Having them as proxies/cameo opportunities in other comics is just a bonus.

>>155707429
>He’s doomed to be the homo Robin paired with dudes forever, just another case of bi erasure.
Because bis aren't real, just desperate, lonely people willing to go after anyone who will pay them attention.

Was this a hate crime?
was it justified?
>>
>>155711299
DC is just full of Dickfags who can't stop jerking off over him. The favoritism is painfully obvious. Literally every Robin who isn’t Dick has been fucked over for years.
>>
>>155711897
DC spent the last decade giving Tim to to Timfag writers. Tynion doubled down on the Johns era Batman Junior. Zdarsky tried to recreate Tim's Dick 2.0 persona. Don't blame Dick because DC is afraid to go back to the one time Tim was actually good, because it's not "Robin" enough.
>>
>>155706833
What team? Don’t say Titans, buddy
>>
Kill all the Batfamily members who aren't Bruce, Alfred, and Dick. Not sure if Gordon is considered part of the "family" but bring him back. Babs can come back but only as Oracle. MAYBE keep Cass and Damien with a little retooling.
>>
>>155712036
That’s an overcorrection and is ignoring the problem. I’m not against the Bat-family existing as a sort of nebulous group, but it shouldn’t be the Bat-family. It should be a collection of street-tier vigilantes who were inspired by Batman and have some overlap.
>>
>>155712016
Justice. No longer Young Justice. Get him with Kon and Bart. We don't talk about the last time they got together as a team.
>>
>>155711974
Those writers were on Batman. Look at their own comics instead. Tim got a shitty artist and a miniseries, while Dick and Damian got better artists and ongoing comics. Their writers were just as bad, but DC clearly gave Dick and Damian way more to work with. And once Tim and Damian’s comics ended, they were left with nothing while Dick kept getting more comics.
>>
>>155711897
Yeah sure, Anon. Go jerk it to another “smartest Robin” monologue and the issues where Tim Drake was stealing Dick's bedroom.
>>
>>155712239
So just more nostalgia pandering
>>
>>155706833
Lol lolmao.
New Teen Titan shown us that batfags writers are petty and get mad when they stole their toys.
Hell , suicide Squad also shown us that, the moment Harley started to be popular was because Suicide Squad+ Arkham and suddenly the Batman editorial put her on a comic.
>>
>>155711897
While that's true for this deacde, before that, it was Damian, and before that, it was Tim.
>>155712265
Dick got nutcases who act like his managers and have spent too much money in this to stop buying his shits. DC is going to milk them for as long as they can. Tim or Damian don't have that kind of army to back them up.
>>
>>155712894
If another group could make Tim an interesting character again, the Batman books would want to use him.
Or if he continues to suck, at least he's not in the Batman titles anymore.
It's a win-win.
>>
>>155713348
He spent 2.5 years as a brain-damaged cab driver named Ric and still outsold the rest of the Batman Family titles.
Is the hating really just that he has fans?
>>
Only things you can do to make drake interresting is to either make him evil oracle of sorts, kill him in a way distinct from jason or retool him into something so diffrent it only keeps his name
He is gay and boring and I dont read comics to be bored or to be bombarbed by shitty propaganda
At this point have superboy prime stub his toe on source wall and erase him from the timeline,he just doesnt work (look at red robin 2 and mallard)
>>
>>155713348
Tim and Damian still have more fans than most B-list characters in All In.
>>155713447
The problem is that his fans are lunatics, and many of them currently work at DC.

Absolute Tim got killed by Absolute Clayface. I consider that a test run.
>>
>>155712036
Too bad DC won't release another back-to-basics line with Absolute comics still succeeding.

You're delusional. The EIC/Publisher responsible for everything between 2003 and 2020 was the biggest Dick Grayson hater ever. What you're seeing now is the stuff they would have been doing all the time if Didio hadn't been around, because we're talking about one of the most important characters in DC Comics history.
>>
>>155714146
>Batman & Robin: Year One
>World's Finest
>Dark Patterns
>Robin and Batman
We've been eating good, Anon.
>>
I don't even particularity like him but he's totally fine as Perma sidekick Robin. Fills that role well (NH), whereas Damian and Bruce's dynamic is lacking bc of ghost thier similar dispositions.
>>
>>155714163
All I see is the same generic Dick story where everyone keeps jerking him off and telling us how important and special he is.
>>
>>155712036
what does killing off (all the batman supporting characters) actually solve anon its not like every page of detective and the main book is devoted to the extended batfamily
usually you just get robin and maybe nightwing and one of the batgirls its not like they;re shoved everywhere
>>
>>155706404
The fuck does this faggot have to be sad about?
>>
Tim should just retire, go to college, leave and become the 2nd behind Lucius at Wayne Enterprises before taking over the company.
He just doesn't have enough to justify still being a hero and the fact that like 30 years after the characters introduction that he's still Robin shows he's not a deep enough character
>>
>>155715154
Nothing, they're making shit up about Tim to TRY and give him more character depth and it makes no sense.
>>
>>155712036
I always get the feeling that people who say this don't read comics regularly and probably still wouldn't if they actually did this.
>>
>>155712743
why not? Can Dick just not be friends with Wally and Roy because that's nostalgia?

huh, it's not often I find Cassie cute
>>
>>155715245
Apparently, given how frequently DC has blown up the Titans franchise for this exact reason, yes.
>>
>>155715697
You misunderstand me anon. It's precisely the seemingly self-contradictory nature of Gen X that confuses me
>>
>>155715245
Doing things simply for nostalgia doesn’t fix anything nor improve them. How many times has Teen Titans nostalgia failed with Dick? Why would Tim have a different result?
>>
>>155716706
Never, actually.
>>
>>155706404
fuck it
kill him off and make him the new Specter

They attempted to make Tim the future Batman, aka Batman Beyond. But they eventually pivot and decided turning Tim gay would benefit him as a character more.
>>
>>155713447
> that he has fans
Part of it. Nobody likes dealing with nutcases. The other reason is that he's just a watered-down Batman who has never been more interesting than when he struggled in his debut as Nightwing. This prodigal son's direction is not doing him any favors. Nobody likes a yes-man.
>>155713855
Not to the point where they'd faithfully buy a nothing book every month even if they don't like the direction.
>>
>>155714163
How is he delusional when 2020 was six years ago? He's been pushed a lot since.

Tim has always struggled because of Jason Todd's history as a character:

>Jason is originally introduced as Dick Grayson 2
>we spend some time with this Robin until we get the pivot that eventually leads to DITF, implying that Jason has some demons underneath the hood
>Jason is killed off as editorial wanted a Batman-less Robin
>Tim is eventually introduced as a logical continuation of Jason's "edgy Robin" that was snuffed out in the womb, but given a new angle as a guy who VOLUNTEERS to become Robin
>Tim is established as someone that Joker takes an interest in, and is framed as incredibly reckless to the point of almost suicidal
>Jason is brought back years later and proceeds to not only steal the "edgy Robin" angle but the dynamic with Joker, while the "suicidal/self-destructive" angle is retroactively given to Batman
>Jason is retconned to have never been like Dick Grayson 2

It makes more sense to have Jason and Tim be a single character from the start. Chronologically, Jason has too much in common with Dick while Tim and Jason have too much overlap.
>>
>>155719876
There's also the matter of character foiling which also represents Batman's eras.

>Silver Age: Dick is campy, bright, and flamboyant to juxtapose Bruce being gothic and noir
>Bronze/90s Age: Jason-Tim is edgier, dark, and cynical to juxtapose Bruce being silly and fun
>Modern Age: Damian is immature and aloof to juxtapose Bruce being mature and vulnerable

Batman learns from each Robin what to do and what not to do.

>>155715820
I would say that Cassie is getting lost in the Wonder Girl shuffle, but DC has hardly any use for any of them except for Yara in one of the Titans books for the moment.
>>
>>155711862
the trunks really made it look like as a hate crime
Also, I remember all salty Tim-fags crying a out this.
Good times.
>>
>>155715154
Mom and dad were dead. His best superhero friends were dead. His surrogate father was dead. The ex-girlfriend he thought was dead was revealed to have faked her death and was running around as Batgirl and this upset him for some reason. His best friend was fighting cancer. And then he was asked to give up Robin to Damian Wayne.
>>
>>155720036
>Silver Age: Dick
Dick is a Golden Age character. You can't even get that simple fact right.
>>
>>155720036
Dick was Robin for 90% of the Bronze Age you LARPing casual.
>>
>>155720715
Thanks for the sincere answer, anon.

Maybe I'm just a curmudgeonly asshole, but all of that stuff seems like standard capeshit backstory stuff, so Tim being the saddest faggot someone knows makes Tim seem like the poorest emotional regulator rather than someone singularly burdened with tragedies.
>>
>>155721008
Both things can be true. Tim taking it harder, being a little more sensitive, and dealing with his emotions poorly seems faithful to the character. Remember, he got into being Robin because he was a fanboy. He wasn't motivated by tragedy like Bruce or Dick. And where Bruce and Dick had the worst of it happen when they were children, and had years, decades even, to deal with all the grief that came with being a hero, Tim was older, and had all of that go down within a 3-4 year period.

Also it was an intentional editorial direction to put Tim into a sadboi era. He even had a Very Special Issue about mental health and suicide prevention.
>>
>>155720036
sorry if I'm reading this wrong, but this all sounds very wrong.
I think Bruce honestly brightened up a good bit back in the Golden age when Dick showed up. He also got 'silly and fun' when and then back to a bit more serious and brooding over the years while Dick was still Robin, and I think he pretty much stayed that way for most of Jason and Tim's tenure
