Yet, despite both having seemingly died, one got to come back and the other didn't. The exact mechanism of death isn't the issue, its the overall theme of forgiveness that TADC wants to have. Why does Caine get the reward after his death and Jax doesn't? I'd argue Caine did much worse things than Jax and both were realized their mistake, so it feels weird that the young, 22 year old dies while the AI that has led to many other abstractions lives.
