People only think one version of the character is cool for being done in animation by a competent Japanese studio. Won't have the same effect in a live action movie especially without a Batman.

I mean to a degree the secondaries who probably consist of a lot of blacks, are correct in that it will be hard to get them to care about a singular character who isn't a name they already know from a team movie. But yeah if they made a 100% faithful Starman movie, or some other sleeper hit that /co/ and comic readers know we'd all want that to do gangbusters but those same blacks would hit it with the literally who shit. That's why Gunn had to do Superman first. And Clayface while recognized doesn't easily lead to setting up as many other major or minor characters which when you're thinking of starting a universe, you need to set up a lot of shit. MCU phase 1 is simultaneously too fast and slow for me but I'd say they still did it mostly right when they got to Avengers.
