Wildwood and Toy Story 5 are done for.https://youtube.com/watch?v=1G5LArU7tmE
>>155800366The real npc population test will be this box office
>>155800366Anon please; we all know Toy Story 5 will be taking that Oscar>>155800398I don't see this getting any hype from normies, let alone the box office.
>>155800366Isn't AI-generated material not protected by copyright? What's stopping people from pirating and screening this shit for money?
>>155800489Yeah, if I care at all about the movie I'd just pirate this shit. Nothing they can do about it.
>>155800366>Plans Oscar Bid for Best Animated FeatureIt's not animated.
Meh
>>155800489preciselythings like this are being done only, and I mean only, to sell clicks on news sites and stir up feelings to profit from.(also, they hope people will ban AI because that's going to lead to something that makes Napster look like a drop in the bucket as far as nobody having to pay for shit)
>>155800718>It's not animatedHow?
>>155800366Never met someone who draws breath talk about this “movie.”
>>155800366Making a bid doesn't mean they'll get a nomination, let alone win. Lots of independent animated films get completely ignored, even shit the Academy would really go for if they actually cared about animation, which they don't. The whole reason the best animated film category was made was as a ghetto to keep animated films from ever competing in best picture again after Beauty and the Beast got nominated back in 92. Until very recently members didn't even have to watch all, or even any of the films in best animated picture category to vote and at least a few admitted they just picked whatever their kids talked about the most.
So, is this just a compilation of the short films he released on his YouTube channel? I recognize some of that footage from Patchwright and Pomegranate.
>>155800366Secretly putting everyone who goes to watch this in theaters to death via gas better be the angle they are going for
>>155802390AI content (be it text, code, sound, images, or video) is probabilistically generated by prompts and models. It's not animation anymore than someone releasing a 90 minute physics sim.
>>155804130And what is being generated there in this case? An animation. If you have a script and storyboards, and you turn those into prompts with specific direction for camera and framing and blocking and shot composition, aren't you, strictly speakingy animating that script and those storyboards?
>>155804258>If you have a script and storyboards, and you turn those into prompts with specific direction for camera and framing and blocking and shot composition, aren't you, strictly speakingy animating that script and those storyboards? In a round about way, yes, and no. As faggoty as this sounds, we'd probably have to dissect semantics and I would go far as to say that animation vs prompted (AI) media is different. It may wear the "skin" of animation, but I wouldn't say it's animated in the sense of made by people. I'd use prompted or AI media.
