Manhunter cries and complains in a car, John doesn't care, Hal turned out to just be a totally random killing by the sheriff, Johns presence in town was totally incidental, his mom did not lure him there for anything, there was no plot to frame him. John treats Guy like shit for absolutely no reason whatsoever. Evil reigns.

I'm only 2 episodes in but this show is great so far. Can't believe how much seethe there was before it even released. Kyle Chandler is the GOAT and Aaron Pierre is doing a great job. I know nothing about the Green Lantern comics but I'm enjoying the intrigue surrounding Sinestro and Manhunters so far.
Why are the other aliens waging jihad, though, instead of asking the Green Lantern or his bosses to locate the Manhunter? Didn't anyone care when the guy before Hal Jordan died while apparently attempting to bring the Manhunter to justice? Ik Earth is apparently a backwater/mostly irrelevant jurisdiction/sector, but you'd think the big boys would still care about the cosmic genocidal threat that is the Manhunters.

Anyway, I'm having a lot of fun so far. Fucking love Coach Taylor.

I'm 2 episodes in too, already know the spoilers from lurking the threads.
This show is really frustrating. I like the two leads and the dialogue can be enjoyable but the racial messages are so hamfisted and forced it ruins the whole thing.

Even if they wanted to make John the star and put Hal out of the picture, I think there were more graceful ways they could have done it, while also setting up ways to utilize him somehow in the future. You could even retain a lot of the shit they used for the show.

The ending ruined it for a lot of people who were into it. A lot was riding on the murder mystery being satisfying. It also ended in a way where there's not a lot of loose ends to have fun with in a sequel unless you buy into the parallax/yellow lantern John idea but I'm personally not sure that's the intention.
