Don't they re-air old or obscure series?

Or does it only apply to Boomerang/Tooncast?
>>
More leaks when?
>>
>>155897038
The last time I tuned in to Disney, it was mostly rerunning its live-action teen sitcoms. wizards of waverly place and good luck charlie, while the only animated show was phineas and ferb.

Just put them both out of their misery at this point.
>>
>>155897105
Probably only applies to Boomerang/CN, they had all that Hanna Barbara, MGM, and Tex Avery stuff they've vaulted away because it's "from a different time."
>>
>>155897195
They do have a target audience, toddlers whose parents put them in front of a tv instead of an ipad.

It's like that programming chart where you see all MTV (and all other MTV's) showing is nothing but like 96 hour blocks of Rob & Big or Ridiculousness. It..it doesn't serve anyone, and it can't be good.

Fun fact: Fox has more ongoing animated shows than these two networks do.

I think we baby bears is going to overtake TTG as CN’s flagship show because it has the same dangling-key effects for babies that TTG has, but with genuinely cute designs and merchandise that sells like hotcakes. The lost tapes is probably going to finish wrapping up and that’ll likely be the end of it. The patrick show is basically just spongebob+, so it’ll either keep going for a while or eventually get axed.
>>
>>155897330
I feel like those shows, for whatever legal reasons, are just the cheapest to rerun and the 12 people who happen to have MTV on will end up watching them.
>>
Kids don't watch cartoons anymore Grandpa. Honestly these shows being at the same company is perfect. Now they can merge and make one channel.
>>
>>155897038
From a soulless, lizard-brained businessman’s perspective, this makes sense. You already have your golden geese (spongebob, we baby bears, and p&f), and the past 20 years have seen how nearly impossible it is to create a new one. Besides even if something new does become successful, it could end up diverting attention away from the golden geese you already have. So why take the risk when it’s both cheaper and more profitable to just import foreign content?
>>
>>155897038
my god, when are we finally going to have a show that grows so large that it has it's own channel?

has that ever happened before? an episodic show grows into a block and then grows into it's own channel?
>>
>>155897549
Nicktoons turned into NickSpongeBob for a bit last summer.

>mfw I remember all the shows that were originally on CN when it first launched in 92'
can it be that it was all so simple then
>>
>>155897549
i mean with a show that runs for a long enough time there will be enough content to run 24/7 for an entire year.

Basically any shows with more than 1000 episodes can justify having it's own channel if there's enough demand.
I mean look at One Piece, it has more than 1000 episodes, by all logic it should have it's own channel.
>>
>>155897038
Isn't baby bears already cancelled on paper they just need to release the last of their episodes?
>>
>>155897038
Nickelodeon:
>most popular thing in a generation
>thing that replaced the second most popular thing on the same network
>most popular thing's spinoff
Cartoon Network:
>reboot
>reboot
>spinoff (and/or reboot)
What did we all do in our past lives to deserve this?
>>
>>155897038
>Mesozoic milked dry golden egg goose
>Ancient toon that barely survived creator's getting metoo'd and any spinoff is already canceled
>Lesser quality unpopular spinoff

vs

>Jurassic franchise that has been hated since inception and took over the entire channel's air time
>Lesser quality unpopular spinoff
>Lesser quality unpopular spinoff

And you people say animation isn't dying

This current season started 3 fucking years ago

Hey, you know, every/co/ is talkin' bout the good ol' days, right?
Every/co/: 'the good ol' days', 'good ol' days'..

You’re forgetting that one of those spin-offs is dirt cheap to produce, air and can grab the attention of the drooling toddlers still watching CN, while the other reboot though not nearly as cheap to produce, is raking in merch sales on a level close to SpongeBob’s.

>I DON'T KNOW WHY
>I OPEN TV WITH NO SERIES TO WATCH
>KEEP THAT I MIND THEY MADE THIS CHANNEL
>TO BROADCAST CARTOONS
>AND THAT'S ALL I KNOW

Please, I guarantee you that these eps cost a mil to make
>>
>The Loud House

not so long...
>>
The Patrick Show and Loud House are both going to end in the next couple years. I'm surprised they're still sticking with TTG because I thought Greg Cipes was out. There's also a couple Adventure Time shows not mentioned in the OP
>>
>>155897744
I'm a lot younger than you, but same feeling, I never thought I'd see the objectively undeniable death of western TV animation.
>>
>>155897837
>>155898084
From what I’ve heard, they’re basically going to release a massive wave of episodes until they have enough content to syndicate indefinitely and air in perpetuity.
>>
>>155897469
I just love that fact that Ridiculous gets aired in reruns so many times a day, everyday on MTV that the guy from Devo whose song they use makes over a million dollars a year from royalties on just that song being used on the show

Isn't Avatar technically still Nickelodeon?
I never imagined Disney would be winning this hard simply by getting the French to do shows for them.
>>
>>155898885
>Syndicate
Fucking where?
>>
>>155897038
You'd think if they can't afford to make be shows they could at least air old stuff that people like. Like run Avatar: the Last Airbender, Rugrats, and such all day and likewise rerun Hanna Barbara and Looney Tunes, Ed, Edd, and Eddy, Dexter, and Courage.

Heck, they don't even have to keep them separate now. Just take the top 20 programs of all time and skit them among the two channels. Do some crazy stuff like Last Airbender/OG Teen Titans/Young Justice/Samurai Jack power hour Courage/Cat dog/Jumanji power hour something like that
>>
>>155897218
And then almost all of it wound up on Tubi and MeTVToons.
>>
>>155899753
Most of the WB/Cartoon Cartoon/Hanna Barbara stuff wound up on Tubi and MeTVToons anyways.
>>
>>155899221
is dragon strikers doing that well? good news if so.
>>
>>155897038
Cartoon Network’s shows are all spinoffs too. Grim.
>>
Cable TV is for retirement homes.
>>
These media companies have zero incentive to improve their moldy old OTA channels. They want you to subscribe to their streaming services.
>>
>>155897038
How the hell is We Baby Bears still going on? I thought with how the main show stopped that would to.
>>
>>155897038
People just watch YouTube now
