How do we feel about this?
>>155899392Whaat? The vegans are angry dykes? NO WAY! That's so original!
>>155899392I'm enjoying it.
>>155899392the only good part of the comic was the art
>>155899392Why did he have onions sauce and trays for it if it pissed him off to see his customers add it? I checked out the comic it's based on and there the guy first proves himself to be the kind of retard to directly mixes the wasabi paste with the onions sauce and then has the audacity to ask for California Rolls, which makes more sense and I don't quite understand why they would change it.Anyway, it's also kinda weird that this isn't the only thing I've seen that draws parallels with restaurants and organised crime. Am I like missing something here? Do restaurants have some mob like qualities in real life? Are restaurants often linked to organised crime in the real world? Do artists like to shit on the restaurant business by comparing it to the criminal underworld because they hate it? Do they simply think it would be amusing? It's kind of odd, I just don't quite get why.
>>155899686The opening text was implying that every other avenue for organized crime had been lost except for food because everyone was addicted to virtual reality which makes no sense. If this is true, it is very much absent from the show. Everyone is just out and about going to food fairs and vlogging like normal.
>>155899906Yeah, no I get the logic of Get Jiro's reasoning for why chefs are pretty much just gangsters. It might be a little far fetched but we're clearly not meant to take everything in this show that seriously or literally, it's obviously meant to be satire of some kind. What I'm confused about is:1. What exactly is that satire supposed to be about?2. Since I can point at least one other thing (Pig starring Nic Cage) that also equate restaurants to crime syndicates, what is it that makes sense to make that connection from an artistic standpoint considering it has happened multiple times?
>>155899392What did she think would happen? She sneaked inside the kitchen of a chef they barely knew when the most dangerous people in the city were the chefs. It's like asking to be killed.
>>155899392>BITCH THIS SUSHI IS HOT!
>>155899392Will Jiro marry tha latina loli?
>>155899392is this the retard sushi guy? he got his cartoon? >yes you must roll rice for 27 years before i even let you touch the fish
>>155900042I wouldn't fully call it satire more absurdist. It's akin to judge dredd, where there is a suitable baseline for looking at the modern world but it also plays second fiddle to the meaning of the story. The lesbians are a look at the alternative food/living Fancy restaurant man is perfectionism and ego Etc.Pic is a similar and appropriate example, the fatties were a jab at America's obesity but it was also meant to just be a sill storyline on dangerous fat people and stomach wheels.Does that make sense?
>>155899392Makes me want high quality sushi
>>155899392The nicest-looking show from adult swim in a minute, but not enough sympathetic characters for now, the tone is too serious to root for a protagonist who commits murder over onions sauce
>>155899392Pretty decent so far. I didn't know about the comics it's based on.
>>155900396Have you tried being passionated for something?
