4chans impact on /co/
>>155907686No one associates Backrooms with 4chan anymore btw
>>155907686Actually, it was this.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ejkTQ51b1Zo
>>155907686 So South Park is going to rip off something that ripped off the SPC Foundation? He's going to IKEA.
>>155907736No one but einstein cares about einstein mother
>>155907844>something that ripped off the [SCP] FoundationAnd SpongeBob just "ripped off" Rocko's Modern Life
>>155907844Backrooms isn't a rip off of anything.
>>155907844If anything it's a ripoff of House of Leaves, not SCP Foundation.
>>155907973Yeah sure bud. Keep telling yourself that
>>155907844The Backrooms post on /x/ and the wikidot version are distinct versions.
>>155907844>>155908348South Park is parodying Kane's version of the Backrooms, which is completely distinct from the Wikidot version of the Backrooms (which is basically a proxy of the SCP Wiki). There are dozens of different Backrooms wikis and hubs, and the only things they have in common is that their lore are inspired by the original /x/ noclip creepypasta, they have tons of children trying to get their stories published, and have tons of tranny mods trying to force their specific interpretations of the lore (resulting in more wikis being made, it's a maze of mazes).
>>155907686Surprised no one bothered to post loss from the loud house. or the literal "/co/" writing on the background art of a motorcity episode.
>>155907686I'm glad I caught this episode blindly. The Backrooms parody took me by surprise lol
>>155911496I was surprised, too.
>>155907686 Does anyone have the trailer for this episode?
>>155907686wouldn't that be fionna and cake
>Slenderman>SCP>BackroomsWhat else has the world stolen from us and corrupted into something nearly unrecognizable?
>>155907973lurk moar
>>155912011RagecomicsWojak and Pepe (technically 4chan stole them from other imageboards)And youtube, twitter, instagram and tiktok are full of accounts that make money by reposting comments from 4chan and reacting to them.
>>155912011Slenderman came from Something Awful, not 4chan.
>>155912011It’s nobody’s fault that they didn’t copyright them when they had the chance
>>155912011The joy of life
>>155912011literally the entire format of modern internet culture. Reaction images (and gifs) are pretty much a 4chan thing, for god's sake.
>>155912186Copyrighting the ideas wouldn't have stopped people from doing their own versions of them. The best thing you can do is work to produce a version of these ideas that doesn't suck ass.
>>155907844SCP and backrooms are adjacent and both following the trope of "found image creepypasta".That is taking some random weird image and spinning a sci-fi/horror story out of it.
>>155912011people literally use greentext arrows on twitter and youtube and tumblr and discord, used for the same manner of speaking it's supposed to be done here
>>155907736>everyone is retardedyeah I figured that out in 2020
>>155913542>it took him 2,020 years to realize thatyou are the rhubarb
>>155907769>Bagene's burgers joins the genocides route.
>>155913286There are Twitter accounts that are just screen shots of green text threads from here that have been able to pay for entire houses
>>155907844Isn't it all a ripoff from a famous short story from the 80s?
>>155907686/r9k/ pioneered the black pill movement and its a core part of looksmaxxing.
>>155913877looksmaxxing is a bodybuilder forum / /fit/ dialectic.
>>155907736No one but goys like you think so.
LIMINAL SPACES AAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEE
>>155912152Wasn't Pepe a South American thing?
>>155914859>South AmericanAnon...
>>155912011Pretty much everything. The good news is that they haven't stolen anything from 4chan in the last few years because 4chan hasn't made anything of worth since then.
>>155914128This but unironically. Movie spooked me somethin' fierce...
>>155913875>famous short story from the 80s [that I conveniently can't name]
>>155907686Awwww, Stan looks so scawed...
>>155918651Stan is so cute
Why doesn't reddit, the now defacto social media website for pop culture, have any art/writing projects like SCP that have become popular? Reddit doesn't seem to have much of a cultural footprint at all, if it went away tomorrow I wonder if it'd be remembered 10 years later. Not that this website is better at this point, the golden age of anything coming from 4chan culture is long, long gone.
>>155918885Adult women never seemed to grow out of Avatar or Spongebob, or those Minion movies for that matter, maybe WB just didn't want to make cartoons they wanted to watch.
>>155918885This seemed like a way of trying to be progressive (women mature quicker!) while also covering their ass that they don't want exclusively girly shit on their network because boys stuff is still usually universal and the most broad.
>>155918885There's only one type of person who thinks animation is solely for kids. Unfortunately that type of person is a called a "studio executive."
>>155918881I'd say tiktok and Instagram are way more at the forefront for social mediaReddit is only good for hyper specific Google searches where you put "reddit" on the end. Like if you wanna know which Bluetooth speaker is better for the price
>>155907736I've seen it get brought up even on normalfag sites like youtube. It's basically impossible to talk about the origin of the backrooms and not acknowledge the fact it started with a 4chan post about a creepy photo.
>>155914859No
>>155913286The thing is, greentext arrows are a great tool for quoting someone, so anons who use other sites keep using them.
>>155907686Rebecca Sugar and Alex Hirsch used to hang around here so, there's that
>>155907736Gaslighting faggot
>>155918881Reddit has r/nosleep and it's the worst creepypasta forum ever, solely because you and the other posters have to be in character. You want to offer tips to an new fiction writer? Nope, gotta act like the story's real or else you are getting banned, no exceptions whatsoever.
>>155907736The director of the movie literally references the 4chan post in multiple interviews
>>155912011>Stolen from 4chan4chan doesn't own anything dumbass.
>>155907686we've had the guy fawkes mask on the show before
>>155920987what scares me is how this is going to make everyone who saved a bunch of /x/ greentexts try to make something out of it allrealistically you could do that but most would suckdreamcore is next and because of the budget needing to cost as much as an avengers movie its going to be so bad
>>155907736Doesn't matter, still came from here. The original is still the original and you cant deny it came from/x/, I actually remember those threads from college, i eveb have screencaps kid
>>155918651Stan is pussy
>>155907769I like how every Equestranauta is always a 45-years-old man watching cartoons for little girls
>>155907686>4chan's impactsure the backrooms concept originated from 4chan, but the one being referenced is the youtuber's version >>1559120114chan is a shell of its former selfno memes are spawned from here anymore and instagram basically replaced the fringe edgyness and meme generating aspect of this place
>>155907736>>155919763what the fuck does that matter? it came from 4chan. there's no ambiguity about it unless you're like one of those troon redditors who somehow think that because something is popular on reddit means that's where it came from. 4chan is the home of garbage like rage comics and lolcats. it doesn't matter what they eventually became.
>>155907736I'd be so pissed if I was that anonis it even possible to prove you're the original poster and get some residuals?
>>155919725I wish that were the case"le kidult" animation literally ruined the cartoons industry
>>155923422no lolslenderman has a verifiable origin on Something Awful. The original post still exists, and if that user's account is still active, they can be contacted or credited. but guess what, slenderman is considered "internet culture" and for whatever reason, it's okay to just steal things and monetize off of them if it isn't attributed to some fuckass company already. on 4chan it's basically impossible to ever prove you're the one who made something, and that /x/ post in particular is probably long since dead anyway and was likely never archived.my only real question is how the fuck did that person even find that image, because someone found the source of it, and it was from some defunct website that was archived on the wayback machine back in like 2003.
>>155907973not a rip off, but Twilight Zone has an episode with a similar premise
>>155918903>women mature quicker!women do mature quicker. the caveat is that they stop mentally progressing past age 14, while men keep maturing up to their mid 20s. women aren't held accountable for anything because you can't always hold a 14 year old accountable for making an easily avoidable mistake even if it was a profoundly retarded mistake.
>>155921649Holy fuck we're getting a Cat's Cradle movie that'll be funny as shit
I AM A FUCKING ARCHITECT
>>155912011>uswhat have you created
