"Nisha" is a fine name, but "Pavi" is an awful one.Not even the voice actors can decide on how to pronounce it. Sometimes emphasizing the first syllable, sometimes the second, and sometimes saying it almost like "puffy".
So the Anomaly is Fear. It amplifies fear in others but it gives the twins visions. Why? Because they locked away their biggest fear 3 years ago. Something happened to their family that forced their parents to contact the White Lotus for help. Probably another angry mob or something like that. They tried to run away but were found in the badlands anyway. In a life or death situation one or both of the girls went into the Avatar state, wrecking everything and causing the storm that prevented Karthik from getting there in time. Their suppressed memory is them accidentaly killing their parrents in the Avatar state. Kids friendly version: Their surpressed memory is Nisha causing Pavi to loose a leg and sepparating them from their parents in the chaos.

I feel like there's an unusually high frequency of scenes where the characters are eating something. It's not such a huge thing that I'd complain about it, but it's caught my attention. However, I did have a problem with the characters getting into a food fight despite this being a post-apocalyptic setting with starving orphans and food-stealing bandits. It was written as a joke and the characters called out the stupidity of the scene, but it reminded me of pic related.

I finished the 3 new episodes. All in all I can confidently say that the sloppy animation is the worst in episode 1 and that it seems to happen in the non-fight scenes in later episodes, which I am grateful for. The bending scenes in the new episodes were good, episode 4 has the best fight scenes so far, seeing Karthik bend in episode 6 was nice. So I get that they're going for a "no bad guys in this story" angle, but I just hope it doesn't mean that everyone gets hit with a retard ray at some point and they do dumb shit without thinking it through - the faceless, the bender brigade, the city council, the white lotus and the avatars themselves. I think the bait and switch is obvious - the girls' parents told Karthik they entrust him with the avatar, but they believe Pavi is the actually the avatar and I think they like the trope of meek, shy mess being a better bender than the loud, confident person too much to drop it at this point. I like the dynamic the girls and Jae had. They're genuinely funny together and his nervous goody two shoes persona balances out how mischievous they are. Korra flashbacks are gonna have to happen eventually, I just wonder if they'll be sprinkled out through the series or if they'll do a Wan style mini-series within a particular season.

The new batch of eps were better than the first set. They seemed to manage to figure out at this point how to best animate the twins for personality and charm with these episode. The cute faggot twink's latching real hard onto the position of best boy. You almost get the sense he's the actual protagonist of the show with his growth and initiative to move the plot.As for the lore, it does seem like the 7 chakras theory is panning out with how the anomaly runs on fear and that the whole plot structure is going to be about going to each haven to have the girls absorb the chakras to mirror Aang's chakra unlocks. My guess is that somehow the avatar cycle has returned with Vaatu and that pushed Korra into a berserk avatar state. Once they calmed her down, they probably decided it was for the best to split up that part of the avatar spirit into 7 pieces to rehabilitate the corrupted lives across the world over centuries but the purpose of the seven havens were forgotten and now pieces of the whole are out to return themselves to the avatars to fix the cycle. Based on >>155920314 the parents probably realized that they can't keep the twins together or else they go berserk too. Korra will have realized that Vaatu and Raava's unending battle needs to end for the sake of humanity, and takes Vaatu into herself to mix with Raava. Or maybe she wanted to get the past avatar spirits back from Vaatu.But initially he overpowers her and causes the cataclysm, but then Korra manages to subdue him and enters a stasis while Raava and Vaatu rebalance within her. After 200 years of this, she finally dies and the avatar spirit is tied to both now.Raava and Vaatu split the avatar spirits between them, probably one of them getting Korra and the other getting the rest. The rest having been held within Vaatu since the time Raava died and regenerated inside him. But if both are inside Korra for the cataclysm, who knows if they got mixed around.Given that the avatar's personality is a reflection of the weaknesses or challenges the previous avatar faced, we can deduce that Nisha does not have Korra's avatar spirit, while Pavi does.tldr: korra caused the cataclysm when she learned that vaatu has the past avatar spirits, and decided to take him into her so she could reclaim them. Actually rather than argue about what has or hasn't been revealed or what is or isn't being set up, maybe its better to just say that I think within these first 6 episode, there's already been some that feel unnecessary or like they should have come later>Intro episode is intro episode, sets up world, introduces characters, good>Second episode is essentially the part 2 of episode 1, introduces the other avatar, and introduces a threat (the storm with the spirit anomaly appearing), has some issues but does its job>3rd episode reintroduces the white lotus and tries to make some drama between the girls? Bad>4th episode establishes that bandits exists and they are stealing supplies and benders, the characters fight them off but reveal their identities by accident. Ehhh>Episode 6 adds new context with Pavi's leg, and adds new insight into the events of episode 2, while also having a solid standalone story about fear which directly ties into the above things. Good.Basically just think a couple of the episodes haven't really felt like they're ABOUT anything and just doing vague setup on stuff we don't know if we should care about yet. A lot of the annoying sorta: "randomly introduce interpersonal conflict, resolve it at the end of the episode" things that I felt were often weak even in TLA, but then these episodes also function worse as standalones compared to similar episodes in that series.I guess it just comes down to: How easily could you bring to mind the events of an episode and what that episode meant from just it's name.

It just sorta felt like the writers realizing the twins needed some friction between each other to overcome and bring them closer before turning them into a dynamic duo of goobers in episode 4. Just didn't feel natural to me.

It's really weird. This show has won me over again. I wanted to hate the twins but I love them. It's the total opposite to Korra, who I wanted to like but began to hate.

The whole "affliction" feels like its probably a more important threat now but there's still that sense of like, is it just going to be finished with now too?I obviously assumed the faceless will return and that the affliction will show up more. But the story is treating these so passively, like will episode 7 actually deal with the aftermath of the afflicted incident at the hospital, calming their fears, trying to handle them better?Will the characters instead finally decide to deal with the faceless and the kidnappings?Will people try to deal with the evil crystals?Will we see any further progress on the investigation into the avatar and the people believing the brigade is hiding them?Or are we just going to introduce some new thing with the other havens and keep all these problems in the background?
