>Scott Free (Josh Hutcherson) is the world’s greatest escape artist, known to the world as Mister Miracle. His perfect life with his warrior wife Big Barda (Mackenzie Davis) falls apart when their two home worlds – Apokolips and New Genesis – go to war, and Scott’s cruel adoptive father Darkseid appears to have captured the ultimate weapon, the Anti-Life Equation, that will give him total dominance over the universe.

>As the mountains of bodies on both sides grow even higher, only Mister Miracle can stop the slaughter and restore peace. But the terrible power of the Anti-Life Equation may already be at work in his own mind, warping his reality, exposing his long-buried pain, and shattering the fragile happiness he’s found with the woman he loves. The odyssey of Scott Free is a harrowing, hilarious, heart-wrenching journey across the pitfalls of the ordinary and extraordinary as the son of God raised by the devil tries to save his family, his world, and maybe even himself. No prison can hold him. No trap can contain him. But can Scott Free pull off the ultimate trick – escaping death itself?

I opened the thread specifically to bring this up but I’m glad you did it for me. Why the fuck is Gunn giving this glowie the royal treatment and making him one of the spearheads of the DCU when he’s so hated and polarizing?
>>
>>155967789
That is critic acclaimed Eisner Award Winning author Tom King you are speaking of, sir!
>>
>>155967789
Hate him all you want but casuals ate up King's comics more than others. And at one point so did /co/.
>>
>>155967820
>>155967848
And why are you simping for him?
>>
>>155967862
Mine was sarcastic, especially to show how dogshit the Eisners have gotten.
>>
>>155967848
I hated him since Sheriff of Babylon was universally praised and it was complete horseshit
>>
>>155967862
Telling it like it is isn't simping unless you're intent on running away from reality. Sometimes people you don't like and think are bad are popular with another, larger crowd.
>>
>>155967687
What in the blue hell is a Mister Miracle?
>>
>>155967911
>Casuals having bad taste is ackshually a good thing and Gunn torpedoing his new universe so he can keep a war criminal employed is le based!
Dead Company is so cooked if this is the best argument their shills can come up with.
>>
>>155967991
>anon thinks his opinions aligns with casuals therefore all he can do is call things he can't understand as shilling
>>
>>155968100
No, my opinion doesn’t align with casuals because I’m not a sheep who likes literal glownigger psyops

His mom was a Warner Bros. executive.
>>
>>155967789
>>155967862
Tom King's mother was a Warner Bros exec. He is a nepo baby. His sales were bad and he still failed upward where other new comics writers never would.

And Tom King was heavily marketed as a super cool secret agent (idiot desk jockey enjoying vacation) of the Iraq invasion, back when Americans were even more willing to go along with anything packaged as military veteran worship. If DC drops invader King, then DC would be failing to Honor Our Troops according to the religious tenets of American military-entertainment complex.

The world deserved an adaptation of swashbuckling Mister Miracle like Ukazu's take on the Fourth World, not TK's woe-is-me cliche depression millennial Scott with cardboard girlboss nanny Barda.

>>155968334
someone needs to kill John byrne
>>
>>155967789
>Why is this guy who works for WB giving the royal treatment to a glowie whose mom is a higher-up at WB
Golly gee I wonder
>>
>>155968444
>>155969363
I didn’t know his mom worked there ergo making him a nepobaby as well as a glownigger
>>
>>155968429
Nepotism strikes again!

Wait this is the art style? I have a hard time seeing this in animated motion

Reminder that Scott is Jesus Christ and Orion is satan

Man and I thought we would finally get a faithful adaptation of Kiby's fourth world, I really don't get what gunn sees in king.
>>
>>155969412
What a fucking double whammy
>>
>>155971562
Jesus Christ, superstar who are you what are you fighting for
>>
Is this the one where Scott realizes he’s trapped inside Darkseid’s Omega Sanction, repeatedly cuts his wrists in attempts to escape, but eventually gives up and decides to live forever with a fake version of his wife, Barda, because she acts as his comforting, maternal dominator?
>>
>>155971823
Weird how all of Tom King's stories are alike...
>>
>>155967741
Hopefully this is the last one.
>>
>>155967820
I understand you’re being sarcastic, but what happened to the Eisners? Feels like they just give awards to comics that put over whatever marginalized group is being pushed.
>>
>meanwhile Scott is turning into Highfather in ram V new gods
Well ok
>>
>>155971890
It's not.
>>
>>155967687
Big barda>>>>>>>>>>>>wonderwoman
>>
>>155974808
Big Barda is a consistent caracter.

Wonder Woman is really a "what ever"
>>
>>155971606
>Man and I thought we would finally get a faithful adaptation of Kiby's fourth world
The greatest trick Gunn ever pulled was making people think he cared about the books
>>
>Tom King
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. MM and BB are literally based on Kirby and his wife.
>>
>>155971938
The literary world is pretty much suffered from this as well. Everyone within the organization having political agenda in mind despite it being out of fashion.
>>
>>155967687
Exciting!
>>
>>155974924
>*whatever
It's all one word, anon.
>>
>>155974951
Now they're based on Tom King and his mother.
>>
>>155967741
this
>>
>>155967741
that
>>
>>155967687
I might check it out when it drops
>>
>>155974951
Nope. Now they are based on King's mommy issues and love of writing suicidal tendencies.
>>
>>155974712
It's not?
>>
>>155967687
>his perfect life
>Apokolips
>his perfect life
Still no respect for the actual King of comics, I see.
>>
>>155967741
Jarvis? Send him to Guantanamo bay.
>>
>>155967687
Big Berda pussy
>>
>>155971606
Did you read the thread? TK is a WB nepo baby.

Whether Gunn or another fool is the DC useful idiot waging the Xitter wars, WB is going to dump money to make mommy's special boy's dreams come true.

And the entertainment industry jizzes at the thought of making another media property crying that a rich white guy is the biggest victim of petroimperialism, even though Tom King giggles about how much fun he had and mommy mailed his pull list to his air-conditioned compound. I'm not even exaggerating that last clause, he actually fucking said that in a published interview from one of his publicity tours.
