Or whatever the right word is. When something like Gumball says "neckbeard" or "SJW". You know what I mean. It makes more sense in adult animation at least but I'm talking about kids' shows
>>155986774That's not satire. You mean slang?
>>155986840I don't know exactly. Like le internet references but also le meta but also le social commentary or something. The kind of stuff in the later seasons of Gumball.
>>155986774It reminds me a lot of the stuff from Captain Planet when they would try to use slang. You know? Where the writer had heard the word and yeah they knew what it meant and felt so proud of that, so they shoved it in to "reach" more people, but then a year or so passes and the people they were appealing to had already forgotten about it, and 10 years on now it feels like listening to a show from the 1940's talking about how they're hopping down to the docks cause a johnny got his cake turned up and the spooks from DC are jerking around.Kids probably won't get it, adults probably won't appreciate it, but writers don't have much.
>>155986866I think this is the best example of what I'm talking about: https://youtu.be/YXff2SYqGnA?t=183
>>155986774>>155986946For shock value first, to make a point second.I don’t hate it, but I’m still not happy with how TAWOG decided to go about its absurd humor.
