The real reason the French rioted
>>
Unironically, what causes this behavior?
>>
/pol/baiters desperate to hit their engagement quotas after that php disruption threw off their schedules I see.

Hard to say. I think it's just someone coming in with the goal of making money and not understanding the value of presentation.
>>
>>155988591
Rioting or corporate salesmaxxing?
>>
>>155988591
At one point a company was willing to design and create custom decorations in order to push its brand power and appeal to new audiences. At another point a company with a similar name, run by entirely different people, believes that andy potential long term gain is not worth the repair and maintenance costs.

Could be that disney is relying on ita brands collapsing, could be that the current wave of board members doesnt have a vision for the future and is killing the golden-egg goose, could be anything.

realizing that their big cash cow is childless millennials
>>
>>155988775
childless millennials would also be the ones complaining about everything being made bland.
You could probably make an overpriced burger restaurant where the gimmick is being 90's style Mcdonalds with a play area and games. .
>>
>>155988591
DebtMaxxing and Internetpilled (stores don't have to look cool since everyone is on the internet now)
>>
>>155988591
Corporations realized that they could make more money by making everything minimalist and gay, because keeping locations generic means they are easier to sell. They probably cost way least to build if they just do basic minimalism.
>>155988857
>You could probably make an overpriced burger restaurant where the gimmick is being 90's style Mcdonalds with a play area and games
Genuinely unironically would go to a place like that a couple of times just for the vibe if the food tasted good, and its weird to me that there aren't any fast food places that try to nostalgia bait like that with their décor. Now that I think about it, if you owned a McDonald franchise do you have the right to decorate your location however you want or are you forced to adhere to the corporate minimalism aesthetic? I feel like owning a McDonalds that looked like a 90s/20s McDonalds would be a money printer.
>>

>I feel like owning a McDonalds that looked like a 90s/20s McDonalds would be a money printer.
I think the problem with that is that McDonald's is not a classy establishment anymore (if it ever was). Where I'm from it's a hub for the lowest of lows, aggressive schoolkids and the occasional family. It's messy, loud, constant beeping and there's always a swarm of delivery drivers loitering. It's not a nice place to be so unless some mandatory behavioural code was instated then it would be a waste to put care into decorating a location when the majority of visitors will still treat it like a zoo.
>>
>>155989020
Sadly this is true. McDonalds went from a place that you would want to sit down a eat a quick meal to a place that you go in, get your slop and get the fuck out as soon as possible.
Also its a fucking travesty that no one did anything to stop the fucking beeping thing being added. From what I understand its to tell employees how fast their working so they remain anxiously scurrying around or something, but annoying the shit out of both your employees and customers just to make your workers like 3% more productive sounds extremely counterproductive.
>>
>>155989093
Even just 15 years ago when I was a child/tween it was still a decent place to be, after birthday parties it was common for the parents to take us there and it wasn't a bad environment at all but it seems to have degraded very very quickly. I had no clue the beeping was added to pressure their employees, working and visiting there both sound hellish. Food isn't even good anymore.
But on the topic of Disney Stores I think it's a mixture of costcutting, minimalism being trendy and a lot of people shopping online now. I don't think Disney stores are the types of places where you have to worry about the decor getting trashed because of barbaric behaviour. Disney Adults are just happy to buy merchandise and unfortunately the kids of today never knew a world where everything wasn't grey and stripped down to its most basic form. Besides it's not like Disney stores have to prove that they're worth visiting with wacky colourful decor, they're Disney.
>>
>>155988857
Kids used to get excited to buy toys. Now 1. toys are obsolete and 2. nobody's having kids. They don't have to pretend to give as much of a shit anymore.

Literally McDonald's. The 50's style double arch design is one of several designs currently approved for new buildings. McDonald's has several approved exterior and interior design options for franchisees; the reason why we see so many of the minimalist interior and boxy exterior designs is because those are also the cheapest.

Gen Xers who think Wimsey and fun is gay and anti-adult.
>>
>>155988747
But the only brand affiliated stuff is what's hanging from the cieling..... and honestly i think that stuff is mostly inflatables. Changing those out is a few hours work at most for the big one (depends on how many people you've got, 3 people could do it in like 20min)
>>
>>155988591
Real estate speculation. Make places as featureless as possible so they can be sold and converted into something else as seamlessly possible. From the thumbnail, the bottom looks like it could very well be a sportswear store instead and that's exactly the point.

The problem with this trend is when company's lose track of what they are supposed to even be and target
Disney is supposed to be the definition of colorful, creative, imaginative
McDonald's is supposed to be a colorful and inviting place to entice food sales
Everyone is trying to be tech like Apple, where this type of design works for them because their goal is this futuristic sleek tech company. This does NOT work with companies like Disney which are supposed to be cartoony and colorful. They are not Apple
>>
>>155989093
>From what I understand its to tell employees how fast their working so they remain anxiously scurrying around or something
The beeps are just for any given task being 'ready', whether that be the fries being done, the patties being cooked, or when a given cabinet (heated shelf for the slop) is past the sale time and you're supposed to throw the product away (we never do). This serves two main purposes: You can hire the lowest class of nigs and spics without them being able to really fuck everything up too bad, but also it's method of stretching labor by foregoing fixed positions (fryer, grill, assembly) for two people who have to bust their ass to do everything since they can sort of set-and-forget until it starts beeping/yelling at them.
Ultimately it's short-sighted shit, the lack of workers even during peak hours makes certain positions miserable leading to high turnover rates and lower quality food/service (when it's busy no one gives a fuck how many patties you're supposed to have on standby)

Getting so big that the added cost of "soul" isn't worth it.

Showmanship, "soul", uniqueness, custom shit, fine detail, that's all stuff you do when either:
A: You're trying to grow, giving yourself the best shot at appealing to people. You're putting your best foot forward, being memorable and unique.
B: You're already dominating. Nobody comes close, nobody owns you, you gain money faster than you can spend it, powerful figures want to be you, even the government steps out of your way when you approach. There isn't a need to do any of that extra shit, you assume (correctly) that people come to buy your stuff en masse even if your franchises are literally and/or metaphorically gray cubes, so you don't bother.

>Disney's not growing and they're not on the top anymore, but they used to be a B in their golden age, even literally owning a city
>Sears was an A, then a B, then neither
>Pokemon's a hard B, it doesn't even matter that the games are shit, they make infinite money off merch and practically literally own parts of Japan
>McDonalds was a B, now they're not
etc.

The answer to both is austerity politics. Allegedly.

Doesn't France spend more on pensions than in Education?
>>
>>155994098
that's not abnormal. education applies to about a dozen years of the population, and this is one of the smallest age brackets in the nation in france with immigration largely bolstering the population only of adult workers rather than children in education. meanwhile retirees account for not only 25+ years of age brackets but also the largest population group in the nation. This fate has been inevitable for 50 years, and the only way to stop it would have been natalist policy which the population and the state have both refused at every turn.

Well the average CEO doesn’t walk the streets for starters, the second thing is that rioters and protestors are two different things, the latter have a political goal and are generally organised whereas the former are people who just want to settle scores or steal a television during an absence of order.

France spends an insane amount on pensions and other various benefits and they can't really afford to rack up the insane amount of debts like the US (we can't really either but that's beside the point) because they're not the world's reserve currency. The problem is everyone involved are shortsighted retards that would rather keep digging the hole deeper than actually do anything about it because it's not politically expedient to say "we need to cut funding or we're fucked forever"
