I love that the earliest issues of Spider-Man are introducing classic villain after classic villain, Chameleon, Vulture, Doc Ock, Lizard, Electro, and then you get to these fucking jokers. And then you're right back to Green Goblin and Mysterio.
>>155989511>ai “enhancement”
>>155989511I don't rate Spidey's rogues very highly. All the ones you named are jokers in Ditko's run too, aside from Otto, maybe.
>>155989630I believe Doc Ock is the first Spider-Man villain to actually kill someone.
>>155989533AI could fix that artifacting on Patrick's broom
>>155989511What about the other forgettable ones?
>>155989511To be fair, Foswell was a real breakout character I feel. Once they let him do his reporter stuff alongside Peter, he really shined. I enjoyed him a lot; they should bring him back.
>>155989511The Big Man and the Enforcers are fucking cool, actually.
>>155989511Why did you ignore Living Brain? He's a nobody too. But the truth is, these comics are very old and it was a different time. A robot that seems primitive today and a bunch of mobsters with tepid gimmicks were seen as just as valid a threat as the flashy super-powered supervillains back then.
>>155992188I don't think the Living Brain really counts as a villain though. I think that's a really good issue too by the way.
>>155989511The Enforcers and Big Man are awesome, I don't know what you're talking about. Maybe they are weak individually, but as a team the Enforcers were a real menace for Peter. I love them
The funny thing is, Enforcers are the less shitty version of this concept. Around that same time, there was also the terribly lame Terrible Trio that was supposed to counter the Fantastic Four with their respective gimmicks: https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Terrible_Trio_(Earth-616)And technically Tri-Man for Daredevil too, who was comprised of the powers of the three gimmick criminals who fought Daredevil very briefly: https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Tri-Man_(Earth-616)I think the number of each of these guys' appearances speaks for itself.
>>155992507It blows. This is why it's hard to take recommendations seriously.
>>155993008Nah, Peter boxing Flash was kino
>>155993030The robot fight was dogshit.
>>155993373NTA but that comic is 60 years old, the general populace back then had a very rudimentary idea of what a robot could be and do, if you showed them Terminator 2 they'd be blown away, of course it doesn't make for a very exciting fight by modern standards. Try to put yourself into the mindset of a kid who would read this at the time it was coming out.
>>155993528>Try to put yourself into the mindset of a kid who would read this at the time it was coming out.Oh, now it's great. It's the best comic of all time. All the comics that followed don't even compare. Fuck outta here.
>>155993840Glad we established that.
>>155993373He was cool. Fighing against a strong robot that wants to doxx you is interesting>>155993840>Fuck outta here. Why? It's the opposite buddy, that run is a popular reccomendation here lmao
>>155989644First to kill a member of the Stacy family anyway.
>>155994439>He was cool. Fighing against a strong robot that wants to doxx you is interestingNot in itself it isn't. That's a basic plot that can go any which way. The ultimate result was a boring and shitty fight.>Why? It's the opposite buddy, that run is a popular reccomendation here lmaoIt's still not a good comic.
