I wasn't really fond of the whole underdog approach the comic got into and I would have preferred if that aspect was dropped.
For me at least it didn't really heighten the odds and it just felt like a cheap way to discredit the team and all their efforts on the field.
I play the game and I'm very much fond of these characters and how they work, and I was never really able to let go of that feeling as I watched them do whatever the hell they did in the comic. Part of me just screamed that 'they can easily do this shit wtf are you trying to tell me that they're at a disadvantage or are some runts'. It felt like the characters were characterized more in spawn as you wait for the gates to open than pushing a fucking cart or whatever objective it is.
And yeah they fucking did it too, they won, but I wasn't ever really thinking that they could ever lose in the first place either. All the 'character dies but lol nope' doesn't help either.
There's other things I can complain about but I'm sleepy so I'm throwing about my main tisms and that's it.

I feel like they were at least a decade late and it did that same thing Red vs Blue did were it stopped being a joke and wanted to take itself serious lorewise instead of just making dated FPS jokes and swearing.
>>
>>155992599
Was fun but felt like it flanderized some characters
>>
>>155992832
In hindsight a lot of the comics are just the mercs fucking around and talking.
>>155992874
Pyro has gotta be the worst, but Demoman and Soldier are probably follow-ups
>>
>>155992599
I think they're a lazy excuse to talk about /v/shit on /co/.
>>
It seemed creative at least

The Atomic Robo issue was better

I never read them but what I have seen looks fun.
>>
Excellent ending, probably the only company not chickening out on the admin loving the centuries of revenge
>>
Anyone want to storytime?
>>
Awesome comics, really well written, but not at all what I would have done with the art and atmosphere of the original game. The comics are great in their own right but it's the story for the game AFTER being updated for over 15 years. I would have preferred something set during the early Gravel Wars rather than after it.
>>
>>155993225
To be fair, Pyro's hard to make funny and write for in general
>>
>>155994707
This is drawn almost as shitty as the Robot Boogaloo comic.
>>
I loved them, and so should you.

In another universe there ought to have been a deeper crossover with the Venture Bros. I'm talking an Action Man helmet for Soldier, i'm talking a Col. Gentleman set for Spy. An officially liscensed crossover map and comic where the Team have to escort Rusty venture through the venture compound. A gag where Merasmus arches Soldier. The two IPs just fit so well together, especially when TF2 went silly.
>>
>>155992599
I loved them, and I'm glad the mercs all got a proper sendoff.
>>
>>155996796
Eh, we got the henchman outfit for Scout and I'm happy with that.
>>
I more or less let go of caring by the time the comic ended. Number 7 gave me a strange sensation of looking into my own grave and left me a little thankful I stopped holding onto fiction so dearly, can't imagine expending a decade of emotional energy for what I considered a somewhat underwhelming payoff. I'm still glad it managed to come to a finale, even if it was over 10 years in the making, and I've been able to bury my love of TF2 since then.
>>155996796
A venture compound themed map/spider skull island was a massive missed opportunity; having gotten into Venture Bros long after my love of TF2 I really wish they did more with each other.

its kinda hard to storytime. It's one of those webcomics that if you click on it the panel changes but not the entire page, so you're left out with big spaces until you finish the page.

Ah, fair
>>
>>155992765
Isn't that a character from Team Fortress 1?
>>
>>155993225
I gotta put heavy in there because a lot of the time he feels so serious and then you compare him to the game.
>SO MUCH BLOOD
>RUN, RUN I'M COMING FOR YOU
>CRY SOME MORE
>YAKATATATATTATATA YAKATATATATTATATA KABOOM KABOOM
>I AM FULL OF SANDVICH, AND I AM COMING FOR YOU
It just doesn't feel the same

Good shit

I do like the inherent meaninglessness of it, in the end it was just a petty grudge taken to an illogical extreme, the absurd comedy of it all.
>>
>>155992703
The mercenaries are only the worst because they did not have the best tech available. If they have the same tech as this high tech demo they would've done more.
>>
>>155997135
Well I think that’s just the nature of the two different mediums.
>>
Whens team fortress 3
>>
>>155993245
Ehhh they're better than "DUDE WHAT IF NON-/co/ WAS /co/" threads because people actually talk about the comics
>>
>>155992599
They were great but there was absolutely no reason for them to have that long of a hiatus. Pretty retarded of them to let TF2 wither on the vine for that matter too.

tbf I think the 60s aesthetic gets lost in the comics

How so

Scout talking to the audience to thank them for coming

Definitely not he laughs at himself and at the end goes

Have you ever heard of contrast/juxtaposition?
