How can anyone sit through what might be the dumbest portrayal of the characters? I mean the writing and plots are god awful.Regular ass high school but the x-men just seem to leave whenever they want, destruction happens but this doesn't have the government swooping down on them.With it being Xavier's school for gifted youngsters it made sense, they didnt hide their identities because they didnt interact with flatscans. So they didnt care that Jean just used her name and everyone basically didnt wear a mask, because they werent interacted with by the general public. But now they have normal classmates who would absolutely recognize them seeing them on a daily basis.Even worse is the characterization.Rogue introduced, she thinks the X-men are actively trying to kill her because Mystique impersonates them.Her caregiver says, "I need to send you to a school where you can be safe."Next episodeShe's in class with Scott, just fine, eating lunch with him and saying that Kurt is like an annoying little brother.Those were the people last episode who she thought were evil and out to get herNo moment of 'sweet christmas, i just got sent to the same school as the people who attacked me better make sure im not alone with them'No moments of being distrustful or avoiding them.And even when she switches sides, if you could even call it that, it was done poorly.No point did they ever say something like.So we know Mystique is the principal, maybe we shouldnt stay here where she has some public authority over us because she could use that against us.I know it was low effort trash to capitalize on shit like Dawsons Creek and other teen dramas at the time but even other low effort shows had sometjing enjoyable about them

She never bothered to run or fight before because she knows she can take people out without trying.>So we know Mystique is the principal, maybe we shouldnt stay here where she has some public authority over us because she could use that against us.Mystique's schemes all fail to give her any position of power and turn her kids on her because of how manipulative and petty she is, avoiding her would have achieved nothing outside of self interests.But, you're one of those so it's no surprise your idea of how the X-Men should conduct themselves.
