In an interview with Chip Zdarsky, Zdarsky confirms that this also includes the One More Day deal, which has been nullified effective immediately. Early reviews state that Zdarsky’s Avengers run has Spider-Man in a clear and prominent leadership role, with his conflict with Mephisto front and center. What this means for the Amazing Spider-Man book, or Peter’s relationship with MJ, remains unclear, but one thing that is clear is that after 20 years, One More Day, one of the most maligned Spider-Man stories of all time, is finally done.
>>
This is Marvel we're talking about though, if they want to somehow reinstate the deal then they'll find a way.
>>
The deal is 'gone' but all the consequences of the deal remain.
Same nonsense Joe tried to peddle in OMIT.
You have no reason to be happy about ASM until the last of BND and its thinking are gone.
>>
>>156120659
It’s still a start. It’s a necessary first step that Marvel has resisted tooth and nail for twenty years, to the point that they sabotaged Nick Spencer’s run just to preserve OMD. It was their untouchable sacred cow for decades.
>>
If you think about it, Paul has basically screwed things up so badly for editorial that they feel they have no choice but to erase One More Day along with him.
>>
>>156120615
I think they can just keep them apart without doing OMD 2.0.

Maybe they shouldn’t have tried OMD 1.0.
>>
>>156120591
Doom has earned this one. Henceforth, I declare that Doom has the right to murder the loathesome Reed Richards.
>>
>>156120965
Not really, Doom owes Spidey.
>>
>>156120615
This. The deal may be gone but that doesn't mean they have to walk back the effects of it. I will believe it when I see it. They can easily come up with some random cosmic bullshittery to keep things as they are

If the Fantastic Four didn't exist, Doom would become a Spider-Man villain. Honestly, he's a better end boss than the vampires, Mephisto and Knull
>>
I kneel to Zdarsky.
>>
Joe Quesada is currently feeling a pain worse than when his dad died. Dan Slott is crying and shitting himself as we speak. Anyone else who could be losing their minds over OMD being retconned?
>>
>>156120591
So Zdarsky's run is about a Spider-Man led Avengers stopping Doom? Would be a cool way to handle MCU synergy. So are Avengers editors allowed to override the bullshit of the Spider-Man editorial house?

>You have no reason to be happy about ASM until the last of BND and its thinking are gone
the most realistic thing I can allow myself to expect out of this, is that freeing Peter from Mephisto while not restoring the marriage, will at least entice new writers to take on the ASM book
literally ONE (1) guy wrote ASM that wasn't part of BND since OMD, immediately tried to undo it, and got fucked
I know we're not allowed to say nice things about modern comic book writers on /co/, but allowing a recent "hot" writer to write ASM instead of dragging out writers from 20 years ago that haven't done anything since their BND mini, by itself, would be a drastic improvement for the book. And maybe JRJR will be allowed to retire.

There are plenty of modern comic book writers I like, and they as a rule aren't let near ASM as it's a closed crony club with absurd inhouse rules.
Like you said, the sole exception gets effectively blackballed when he doesn't play ball.
>>
I don't believe him.
Also the resolution to One More Day needs to involve Peter and MJ confronting Mephisto themselves. It can't be undone by an outside book.
>>
>>156120591
20 years from now people would still believe that Marvel would change the status quo of their characters.
Like this is not a Spider-Man only thing but a general Marvel thing, they are just toys in a sandbox used as a idea farm for more profitable adaptations.
If you don't believe me then tell me what was the last big permanent change of any big Marvel character in the last 10 years.
>>
>>156122453
Mephisto himself is OOC. He's supposed to be a character from Faust mythos yet he was introduced without Faust himself. Goethe must have been rolling in his grave with how hard his character has been wanked off.

Marvel Comics doesn't take the deal, its consequences nor what this says about the characters nor audience emotional investment seriously. So they will start the ball rolling in some event comic they want to roll up the eyes for.
The party line has been only oldies care about the marriage, which is why whenever someone young brings up OMD and the marriage they get visibly shook. The idea that this issue might become cross-generational rotted albatross is a dawning reality to them.

It's constant willful ignorance and misinterpretations that are beyond tiresome and instill immense fatigue. Those meme images of retards acting retarded for so long that they end up attracting real retards, is the most faggy situation. That's the impression I get from MJ trolls who just pull up old as fuck pages and try to ignore all that happens later. This isn't new shit. We know how it ends up and the character's arcs are clear and concise up until OMD. Everything after even not counting MJ is all just key jangling bullshit devoid of any purpose or merit, save for some artists.

Bad faith is all the office and its access media apologist have anymore.
They have had decades to make their point and bring that exciting ocean of creative stories that a grounded, stable mutually loving relationship with potential children and progression was apparently holding back.
None of the arguments make sense. None of the youth reasons hold up when you have the variants and of course the option to make a flashback or new ongoing at any time. It's simply a sunk cost ego trip continued, that will end the moment the industries oldest tarred dinosaurs go.

It can be firmly fixed and put to rest, there is a path towards it that utterly undoes Paul, Slotts b8ing and undermining of MJ's character and the deal itself.

Tone deaf criticism. The real issue is that there's no real status quo to build a foundation on. They bounce to a new lackluster idea before the old is even settled, and only the worst ideas seem to carry over between runs.

Marvel decided to stick their head in a woodchipper and currently has had around 4-5 nation-spanning/global events happening pretty much concurrently or immediately back to back.
>Infernal Hulk has turned midwestern America into a wannabe-cthulu city and has kidnapped/monsterized at least 6 heroes now
>3K/OG Beast releasing the X-virus or whatever and forcefully mutating humans in a terrorist attack on US soil
>everything involving Asgard
>Red Hulk just helped Russia fucking nuke itself and Fury Jr is selling out the heroes to kickstart what will likely end up being Civil War 3, since Marvel thinks it should be their Crisis event or something
>Queen in Black which happened ENTIRELY because Marvel wants to ape off Rivals success
>now Doom has just completely vacated hell and released some of Earth's most heinous souls back to the living
Good fucking luck to whatever poor bastard has to make sense of this garbage
>>
>>156126983
Well Infernal Hulk bs is clearly happening after Armageddon since Cap is back in action, but Danvers is already depowered and short-haired and Johnny is moustachless.
Queen in Black should be happening before Cap went into coma since he was leading AVENGE.R.S. and Johnny still had a moustache, so that's before Armageddon.
How Doom's hell bullshit and events of the new Avengers run line up with Infernal Hulk, or where DNX fits in this (Magneto was still sick with his BS when Infernal Hulk faced X-Men, but was cured during DNX) is anyone's fucking guess.

And here come the X-fags who insist it's still the 1990s and it will always be the 1990s and the rest of the world hasn't moved on and left them stuck in the 90s.

Most X-Men books that aren't the core titles have been selling badly for a long, long time, but Marvel just won't wake up and accept nobody wants to read X-Factor, X-Force, X-Husbands and X-Coffee Shop.

Oh no, no, Peter plays out the stalker first having rescued stockholm syndrome MJ from another dimension where 4 years passed, THEN Paul becomes the better man paying out his hospital debt (they never explained how a multiverse illegal alien was loaded), but otherwise yes, israel. Sorry, it's real, his surname is Rabin you see. Paul was literally the last man on Earth, MJ gave up on being rescued after about three years because she didn't know about the time dilation, also Paul Rabin's evil math wizard dad was also influencing her with magic to get into a relationship with his son for reasons we don't understand, because he needed to sacrifice MJ in order to ascend to godhood, for reasons we don't understand.
>>
>>156136273
They want to at least build a story around the fallout and reconciliation instead of poofing them back together instantaneously. Because they still need to sell comicbooks.
>>
>>156136303
>They want to at least build a story around the fallout and reconciliation
That's way too optimistic.
>>
>>156136328
Well, the other alternative is that they want to do the absolute bare minimum to win people back after the Paul Saga managed to even worse than the Clone Saga, so they'll annul the deal but still keep them apart because of stupid bullshit.

But at the very least, they'll have to figure out what that stupid bullshit is even supposed to be, because they can no longer use "muh Mephisto" as an excuse ever again.

Regardless of what happens next, the OMD deal had to be shitcanned, in order for anything to be able to happen at all.
>>
>>156136257
If you hop on Reddit and talk to people about this, yes, plenty think that two people alone together will end up having trauma sex and it's so heckin' valid.

>>156136328
Something's going to come of it at this point. It might be shit, but they're clearly not waking up in the same bed with rings on their fingers come June. They'll have a lot to process. The drama might actually get people to buy the book.

Or, Kelly will just fridge it all until he's off the book. Or, we're going to get Secret Wars 3.0 and rebooting the universe. So, OMD will have ended, but in a brand new 616, they'll still be apart.
>>
>>156136288
>Paul was literally the last man on Earth
Because of him. Those piles of dead corpses she could smell were because he was a bad son who exploited and delegated care of his mentally ill gifted father. She never holds him to account and bafflingly compares it to Peter, she should have been shipped to a deprogrammer.
>MJ gave up on being rescued after about three years because she didn't know about the time dilation
Paul did. He explicitly knew, and he also had to have known considering this was his field. Out of universe the writers forgot, in-universe one must assume he intentionally kept that knowledge in the hopes of breaking her down and getting into her pants by isolation.
>also Paul Rabin's evil math wizard dad was also influencing her with magic to get into a relationship with his son for reasons we don't understand
Which is rape, if the manchildren actually making these comics did more than spellcheck, they would have realized the 'chains' line is the same field as Marcus Immortus. It also doesn't explain why she stayed with him after, other than trauma bonding with your rapist. But none of this is brought up or taken seriously, the Spoffice are in willful denial of the story they made because they don't want to have done another Carol. So they make these MJ's choices she made despite how radioactive they are.
>because he needed to sacrifice MJ in order to ascend to godhood, for reasons we don't understand.
Thank you Wells, and kill Kamala as you bow out.
It's a good summary anon, it's just such a fucking mess and they don't treat it honestly.
>>
>>156136434
>Something's going to come of it at this point.
We already know there's going to be fallout, and Marvel is about as sick of people bringing up Paul as we are of ever having had him around in the first place.
>>
>>156136367
>in order for anything to be able to happen at all.
Sure, but that's assuming the Spider-Man editorial wants anything in Peter's life to change (for the better), which they haven't shown any indication of. They teased ASM 1000 as 'changing Spider-Man forever' and it was basically just May magically losing her memories of Peter to a FOTM villain who's only special because he's Ben and May's son and Peter's cousin. Odds are May's memories will return after this arc with Cormac wraps up.

>>156136434
>Something's going to come of it at this point.
Again, I doubt it. Especially since keeping Peter and MJ separated is one of their sacred cows.
>>
>>156136460
One More Day is basically being killed to appease fans who are still upset about Paul and not having any alternative to flock to anymore like Ultimate Spider-Man. It's a very 'break glass in case of emergency' scenario here.

I believe the 'deal' will be gone in the same way Joe Q actually thought Mephisto was outsmarted in OMIT.
Wherein through some nonsense legalese Marvel will say the deal is gone, but the consequences of it will remain, so in effect they get everything they wanted anyway.
>>
>>156136479
>Again, I doubt it. Especially since keeping Peter and MJ separated is one of their sacred cows.
Well, One More Day was also one of their sacred cows, to the point that they sabotaged Spencer's run for the sake of preserving it. Now it's being shitcanned.

Zeb Wells, by fucking up as badly as he had, did more to change the book than even Nick Spencer. Entirely by accident.
>>
>>156136499
>I believe the 'deal' will be gone in the same way Joe Q actually thought Mephisto was outsmarted in OMIT.
Given the fact that the comics are still acting is if the Mephisto deal had always been in place, I'm pretty sure Joe Q was just trying to appease people without ever following through it in the comic.
>>
>>156136507
Quesadilla and his faggot orbiters only like OMD because it kept Peter and MJ separate, even with OMD undone they'll still keep them apart.
>>
>>156136538
They have no idea how to do it without OMD. OMD was literally just a hail mary, contrived deus ex machine, brute force option of last resort. They knew it was retarded then, they *all* know it was retarded now, but they're convinced it was a necessity. It was bitter medicine, to tell the truly *great* stories that awaited the book once the Evil Marriage was gone.

Great stories like the Paul Rabin saga, for example. While preventing BAD stories like Ultimate Spider-Man 2.0, Marvel's most successful book for two consecutive years while effortlessly selling more than the mainline.

Now daddy Disney is putting its foot down, and shipping them over to Burbank to be babysat and given a lot more scrutiny, because they know they're leaving money on the table. It's not a coincidence that this is happening after the biggest editorial shakeup since Marvel's bankruptcy in the 90's. Something had to give.

They're not about to introduce something even more retarded just minutes after shitcanning the most retarded possible story they thought they could reasonably get away with, and actually couldn't.

>>156136597
>They have no idea how to do it without OMD.
Doesn't mean they'll set Peter and MJ on the path of becoming a couple again. This is still Marvel we're talking about, they will literally choose to be retarded over having Peter and MJ get back together (or even just making Peter act his age, dude is pushing 30).
>>

Right, but, it'll still take them a while to try something. They're not that creative either.

It's going to be at least a decade before they ever try to shove MJ into any relationship that isn't Peter Parker. RIP Bobby Carr and Pedro the Firefighter, Paul poisoned their entire well.
>>
>>156136660
She might get with Flash or Tony but their chances of being MJ's next boyfriend are iffy at best.
>>
>>156136644
>Doesn't mean they'll set Peter and MJ on the path of becoming a couple again
There doesn't seem to be anywhere else for the story to go, and Joe Kelly is already subtly pushing Raelith out while pulling MJ back in. He may not like the pairing, but at a certain point you have to realize you're not a fucking rockstar and you actually have to give people what they want. If people only read your book to get angry about it, they can do it just as easily by pirating scans of it online. People will only buy what they actually want to see more of.
>>
>>156136660
Did Slott have Peter peeping on Bobby having sex with MJ through a window taking pictures? Or am I having a fever dream?
>>
>>156136674
Tony's ass is going to jail, MJ is still bonded to a Symbiote, and Flash is bonded to an Anti-Symbiote that runs the risk of killing MJ's Symbiote if they even so much as hug for too long.
>>
>>156136683
The problem is that you're thinking rationally from a storyteller's perspective about this, if you were an egotistical boomer/Gen Xer who works for a corporate enterprise dedicated to milking IPs as much as possible and who also thinks he's hot shit who can do no wrong, then your perspective might be different.
>>
>>156136703
No that actually happened. Peter was trying to make money doing tabloid shit for the Bugle, and was taking pictures of them fucking.

At least Bobby was a piece of shit, and MJ eventually realized he was nothing but a narcissistic degenerate junkie. Paul, meanwhile, could walk on water despite the genocide.

>>156136738
Which is why I think Disney firing Marvel's President, Vice President, Editor in Chief, and relocating the entire operation to Burbank despite the company being firmly entrenched in New York for decades, really punctured a lot of inflated egos. We still haven't seen the full fallout of all this. More old people are going to be leaving, and more people are going to be coming in, over the next few months. We're still wrapping up Cebulski's leftovers, whatever Wacker has in mind for the books probably won't be in effect until whatever 1 Day is in June.
>>
>>156136775
Wacker's an OMD true believer, though.
>>
>>156136742
Christ that's sleezy. That's Byrne writing Superman and Barda in a porno levels of spite, but at least that got stopped before it went anywhere.
I've yet to read a woman under Slotts pen who was better for it.
I mean it's better than Wells, but that bar is pushing Morlocks to the floor.
>>
>>156136753
Maybe. He destroyed the photos anyways because as desperate as he was, this whole thing was just far too scummy for him.
>>
>>156136796
How the fuck was Slott not stopped from writing this plot?
>>
>>156136788
Wacker hasn't been in comics in a long time, and when he was with Marvel he was a rank and file editor. He's obliged to not shit-talk his bosses publicly and be a good company man. Spencer's run was completely screwed over because he tried too hard to push back against OMD under Cebulski's tenure, for example. Now he's got a new job, and saw the previous Editor in Chief get fired because Cebulski and Alonso before him weren't good for much beyond being Joe Quesada cultists. It's entirely possible Wacker concluded 'ooga booga, if I pander to fans more I'll keep my job.'
>>
>>156136840
Wacker downplayed and laughed off the pretty blatant sexual assault and sleeze in Superior, so my hopes aren't high.
>>
>>156136805
They really wanted the audience to hate MJ, and diminish her as much as possible. Spencer's run screwed that up for them, and when they brought in Zeb Wells to "correct" things, the idiot flew far too close to the sun. People who were willing to tolerate the shit that Slott did under the assumption that things would be fixed "eventually" thought they finally had it under Spencer, and then Marvel pulled the rug out from under them and basically knifed them all in their collective back with Paul. That's why a now twenty year old story is getting pulled now, when everyone seemed to be entirely willing to finally let it slide when Spencer's run happened. They ruined their own attempt at a compromise option, now it's death to OMD, and marriage or bust as far as the readership is concerned.
>>
>>156136859
Wacker was still editing for them at the time.
>>
>>156136918
That's my point, he should have neutered the worst excesses of Slott at his worst trolling and sleezy moments.
>>
>>156136706
Not defending anything here, but Tony's obviously going to not be in jail *yet* given that he's in at least issue #2, and she doesn't have the symbiote anymore. She and Flash are the only two "anti-symbiote" holders we know of at this point, so they have something in common.
>>
>>156136940
He should've, yeah. Now Slott is still getting into arguments over CBR as to whether or not Otto was attempting rape by deception on MJ. Much like with Paul, they're their own worst enemies.
>>
>>156136963
Still sloppy how Flash for whatever reason is the first person she wants to tell about her new production company.
I get the out of universe reason is Peter will be the last issue, because we have to use things audience wants as treats not the basis of how we do stories, but it's sloppy. Nothing about the preview is giving me hope, and that art is manface city.

>>156136966
He really just needs to throw in the towel and admit he fucked up here like he did with Silk. I would respect him far more if he did that, and said please just ignore those kiss pages and skip to where Otto breaks up with her.
It's odd how that's the straw that broke the camels back, it's so obviously fetishy but at least both parties were a victim to the circumstances he wrote.
>>
>>156136963
Tony getting a single issue in a placeholder miniseries isn't enough to form a long-lasting relationship. Especially since Marvel's hellbent on pairing him with Emma Frost, which is far more cancerous.

>she doesn't have the symbiote anymore
It's entirely possible that Eganrac/Fang doesn't qualify as a Symbiote and that it's immune to Anti-Venom. But we don't know for sure, and I'm not even surge if MJ needs Fang to stay alive anymore after Paul's retarded invention kills her. Either way, a single issue in a miniseries isn't enough to make her and Flash an item, especially since she's on record under Ewing saying that she doesn't see Flash that way regardless of how Flash might see her. Even Paul had to stick around for a *while* to make anything official, which was bad, because Paul was also boring as fuck.
>>
>>156137038
>Still sloppy how Flash for whatever reason is the first person she wants to tell about her new production company.
I think she presumed Peter was too busy at the time with Cormac's inane bullshit to tell him about it first. And I mean, that definitely wasn't the right time to tell Peter about it.

They're going to be in limbo for a while. MJ's going to be dealing with more mundane stuff, while Peter's going to get run ragged both in his own book and leading the New New Avengers simultaneously.
>>
>>156137081
It's probably a given that when Peter finds out about the Mephisto deal, he's going to tell MJ about it too. I say probably because Marvel likes to be retarded.
>>
>>156137081
That's a good damn reason anon, you should be writing this.
Instead it's just not mentioned why.
>>
>>156137097
>peter finds out and doesn't feel worthy of MJ so keeps it to himself and moves on
This is just the kind of retarded thing nuPeter would pull under their pen.
>>
>>156137038
>Still sloppy how Flash for whatever reason is the first person she wants to tell about her new production company.
Oh, I totally agree. After the controversy about their relationship and everything over the past year or two, he should NOT be the first appearance in the book. It's definitely sloppy.

>>156137065
>Tony getting a single issue in a placeholder miniseries isn't enough to form a long-lasting relationship.
I don't think anything really romantic will happen in this whole mini, much less with Tony. I was just pointing out that he's not really going to be in jail yet. I also doubt that FNMJ is even going to address that Peter/Spider-Man is leading the Avengers.
>>
>>156137099
Presumably Ashley Allen really only knows the bare details, which is also why Felicia didn't tell MJ that Ben Reilly was running around and impersonating Peter in Black Cat. Because G Willow Wilson didn't have all the details either.
>>
>>156137122
>Oh, I totally agree. After the controversy about their relationship and everything over the past year or two, he should NOT be the first appearance in the book. It's definitely sloppy.
It could be an opportunity to pull the plug on any MJ/Flash speculation definitively by just having MJ friendzone Flash hard at the end of issue 1.
>>

Superboy Prime is a massive fanboy of Peter (implied to be his #2 behind Supes) and would rape the Spider-Man editorial team.
>>
>>156137140
>which is also why Felicia didn't tell MJ that Ben Reilly was running around and impersonating Peter in Black Cat.
I've pretty much assumed that everything in Black Cat #1-10 happened before Felicia even talked to Ben. It's not like it's a long storyline, she mentions it's been a long week when she sleeps with Chandra, and VenoMJ's cameo doesn't look like it's anything more than a day (without the whole Siege Perilous thing).

>>156137158
>It could be an opportunity to pull the plug on any MJ/Flash speculation definitively by just having MJ friendzone Flash hard at the end of issue 1.
One would hope. But, I have a feeling they still want to draw the Flash drama out for... reasons. If anything, just to keep MJ away from Peter for a little longer.

They're running out of reasons to keep Peter and MJ apart outside of just outright having her say she doesn't love him anymore, he's moved on to Raelith, or he can't fathom dating anyone at all because of what's going on in his life.

>Has Wilson worked on anything else?
She was the main Ms. Marvel writer, has a 50 issue Poison Ivy series over at DC, and is soon writing the Captain Marvel ongoing. She's also a writer outside of comics. So, she's done a lot.

She loves writing lesbians though, despite being a converted Muslim. I think Marvel really just wanted her to write representation for Felicia, not muck things up in anything actually going on with Spider-Man. Felicia's so far gone from being a romantic interest for Peter with everything going on, that it makes sense they pointed her in a new direction.
>>
>>156137288
>But, I have a feeling they still want to draw the Flash drama out for... reasons.

>>
>>156137340
I've said this in multiple Spider-threads and other places online, but I'm still not certain that writers/editorial/Marvel get what made Paul so unpopular. That it's just character design or aversion to someone "new."

What I think is happening is that certain people are saying "oh, Flash has become popular with the fanbase over the years, so they won't reject this relationship like they did Paul, because there's history!"

Meanwhile, they miss that Peter bending over backwards to tell MJ how much her new boyfriend is better than he ever could be, while she continues to make him sad, is the problem.

I’m fairly sure that Zdarsky will try to get Miracle Man over by being the one to kill Mephisto.
>>
>>156148677
Not very impressed by Peter and MJ needing to be hard carried by a newly introduced third party.
This should be their journey of introspection, reflection, conflict and final resolution. Instead we're in typical Event Slop hell dangling things people want to actually see again.
>>
>>156148726
The easy part is dealing with a weakened Mephisto. The hard part is the fallout.
>>
>>156148726
>he's still at it
Explain in detail how would DeFalco's May Parker crawl out of ASM #418 Norman and how would the sacrificed OMD baby crawl out of hell to address the Mephistowank properly assuming that MJ that has Fang joins the Avengers arc that has Spider-Man in it. Admit that the entire Spider-Man mythos should be in a public domain IPs if you cannot.
>>
>>156148841
What the hell are you talking about? I'm just saying fix this through some character agency from MJ and Peter, perhaps even Aunt May discovers the secret to her longevity and bizarre benjamin button syndrome, and on her own volition ends the deal - the agency that was denied her in OMD.
Making them just the lucky beneficiaries of other peoples plots surrounding them is just a limp and weak way to resolve the most infamous decision of two decades.
>>
>>156148944

OMD shit hasn't reached Sacha Noam Baron Cohen's ears. Paul Rabin shit that Wells invented much later has reached Eman Esfandi's ears in comparison. Mepgistowank was already addressed by a third party >>156141399

Only reality where I'm not mad is if this happens. But in my ideal world, I would only undo it after like 6 issues and then literally the entire 616 gets rebooted to start back at where it was when it happened.
>>
Hey, spiderman reader in the 80s and 90s here. I dont like this whole storyline where peter is getting into a serious relationship with MJ. His first relationship was with betty brant, and he should never move past that and be stuck on it forever. Thirty years, at least.

absolutely nothing. The deal might be void or whatever but so much shit has happened since then, Marvel won't even need a retcon to say that neither Peter nor MJ want to marry, re-marry, or whatever the fuck they can do now.

OMD was awful. Beyond awful. It remains to me the worst comic book story featuring a top character published in my lifetime.

>>
The writer said OMD was part of this new series, but not how people are expecting. I didnt understand at the time what he meant by that, but it is clear now.

OMD will be one of the topic, but not the marriage. This random woman knows peter made a deal and he did to save may, but she doesnt mention what he traded to?! So it is clear, they will work on the idea that peter made a deal with the devil but not that he gave his marriage for it

He won’t bring back Peter and MJ immediately but he already ended OMD. It’s gone forever, and that means they’ll be coming back together eventually. But Gwen isn’t coming back and OMD isn’t coming back, because the MJ fans wanted this far more than the Gwen Stacy fans.

>>156160216
learn to reasd to dumbass he does not know not he sold his marrige to mephisto.
>>
>>156160256
He’ll find out soon and then Mephisto is fucked buddy he already lost to Dr. Doom at his strongest, now he’s even weaker and has to fight MIRACLE MAN.
>>
>>156160256
By the way this also means that Norman Osborn’s deal with Mephisto is gone so Norman gets Harry back and Peter gets MJ back and Gwen gets NOTHING yet again haha yes good.
>>
>>156160280
That's not the plan and you know nothing has been fixed anon.
>>
>>156160299
>Peter gets MJ back
>You were such a whore with Paul but why I should care -Peter.
>>
>>156160239
Mephisto agrees to revive Gwen, but only if Gwen agrees to look like Mephisto and be raped by Miracle Man every day until she dies.
>>
>>156160342
She will take that deal because Mephisto made her fat and retarded.
>>
>>156160300
>>156160321
Obviously Mephisto brainwashed her to be with Paul uh oh looks like no more Mephisto means no more Paul…
>>
>>156160342
They will bring her back,
>>
>>156160373
bull.
>>
>>156160415
No it’s true anon Paul is already dead and now Mephisto loses everything and OMD goes byebye less than a year later face it Mephisto is nothing without Paul.
>>
>>156160397
…but only as a fat retard!
>>
>>156156257

ONCE AGAIN DOOM SAVES THE DAY… FOR PETER AT LEAST!
>>
>>156160373
Even though the chains text is right there just as it was for Marcus in Avengers #200, they will never bring up or address the fact MJ was mentally manipulated into a loveless relationship for years. If backed into a corner they will just deny or soft retcon the line, but nothing else, because they want the outrage but not the consequences of an actual story.

Is having bald-faced contempt for the readers a requirement to be an editor at Marvel? Like do they list it in the job description or something? "Duties include: making our entire reader base understand that they are unwelcome at all times."

Posts like this are flaseflags for later faggy anons to go "SEE? KEK YOU FAGS REALLY THOUGHT OMD WOULD BE UNDONE?! KWABOTD!!!!"
Raped behavior. Spider-Man has been ground to dust and schizos just like to enjoy running it into the ground further.

ok but the comics are shit not because of a specific plot point but the writing in general, shitty art direction, editorial, decompression, trade writing, events, etc
>>
>>156120615
>This is Marvel we're talking about though, if they want to somehow reinstate the deal then they'll find a way.
They're gonna character assassinate Peter by making him a crazed stalker until he learns his lesson and leaves her be.
Screenshot this.
>>
>>156165829
Agreed on all counts, but at least it's a big dead canary for actual change on the horizon, if the most sacred of editorials cows are killed.
I doubt it. Lowe is still in charge and Wacker is BND alumni. The letter of the law will change but not the spirit.
>>
>>156121127
That means shit, and even Victor know it is.
He will advocate for a CRISIS event to fix the damn thing because 616 is unsalvageable.

Don't be surprised if he is spying Darkseid and Braniac RN after the special now that the source wall of marvel separating DC is canon.
>>
>>156165941
>Don't be surprised if he is spying Darkseid and Braniac RN after the special now that the source wall of marvel separating DC is canon.
I'm headcanoning Prime smashing through it and coming full circle
>>
>>156128119
DC and Image Skybound truly has better editors than Marshit
>>
>>156165975
Marvel is simply too addicted to having teams which then tempts them to have these massive doodoofard events and I say that as someone who is keenly aware of just how bad Crisis Events are usually.
>>
>>156136259
>No, the deal is indeed gone
That's not what retcon means. If it had been retconned, there would have been some kind of change to make it such that the deal had never happened in the first place, what we have gotten is an extremely nebulous new plot point about previous deals with Mephisto being nullified, the results of which for the OMD deal going kaput we still have no idea of. Most likely it will be handwaved in some retarded way and the actual result will be some shit like "now Aunt May can actually die where before Mephisto was magically protecting her" and MAYBE Peter/MJ get back the memory that they were married in an alternate timeline that no longer exists, but decide "well, we're actually different people now than we were in that reality so we're just gonna stay how we are for now" so Marvel can keep stringing fans along for another 10+ years of pretending maybe if they're good goys who keep buying the dogshit comics every month something good might eventually happen.
>>
>>156166733
They're basically so mindbroken that they're gonna use this to forever shut down any future convention questions that mention any OMD stuff. "SEE? WE ALREADY LE DID IT!"
Sorry editorial niggers, me and everyone else are out for fucking everything. We're hitting your jugular. Your entire business is at the whims of fan perception and total KNEELING is what we want. Issue 545, all the way back to that. Everything Slott has ever written? Invalidated and forgotten. His record? Meaningless. Lowe's tenure? Erased. Brevoort's manifesto? Completely BTFO.
>>
>>156167040
You cant undo printed and sold comics. 616 is forever tainted. The real canon spiderman sold his own kids to satan. End of story.
>>
>>156167061
Nope, Marvel could literally print in the coming months issue 545 again but have different art and a cover and have it retcon all of OMD. I know this concept breaks your brain, but then again, children and sex with them also does that to you. Also, by your logic, Gwen would forever be a whore due to the BGC from Norman making her orgasm over and over and her fathering his kids.
>>
File: image.png (148 KB, 195x383)
148 KB PNG
Paige exists because of a deal her parents made with Mephisto, she'll probably convince Peter to keep OMD and that's how editorial wins.
>>
>>156167130
>Also, by your logic, Gwen would forever be a whore due to the BGC from Norman making her orgasm over and over and her fathering his kids.
That comic also cant be unprinted.
>>
>>156167261
No, but it was already retconned so that it was actually Mysterio whose back Norman was blowing out
>>
>>156167205
He’s just going to keep Paige alive while giving Mephisto nothing. Killing Mephisto solves all these complicated questions.

This whole thing is Mephisto being stuck in a self-fulfilling prophecy about his eventual death.
>>
>>156167061
616 writers and editorial simply could not ley Aunt May go, a manifestation of his guilt. Now his children, sacrificed to hell are a manifestation of his failure.

>Sacrificing your children is a noble act.
>>
>>156167205
I'm fine with killing this dumb bitch if it means getting the marriage, Mayday and the second daughter back
>>
>>156159991
They're going to have her propose to him and then the marriage is revealed through MJ filing for a divorce over Peter's "affair" with Paige
>>
Okay I have it the solution to fix things al least most things.

Doom and Spider-Man finally get their hands on mephisto and then.

>Okay the two of you win damn you Spider-man the deal was for you marriage with your woman Mary Jane.

>I am also the cause of the death of your first love Gwen Stacy yeah she died beacuse of me since by norman making a deal with me lead to him eventually becoming the Green Goblin.

Doom step in and says.

>You are to use your power right now and restore the memories of Spider-Man marriage and restore Gwen Stacy back to life Or I will simply kill you this instant for what you have done.

Mephisto trembling with fear
>D-Done

Peter and Mary Jane get the memories back of their marriage and Gwen is restored back to life.

Mephisto is now competely drained of all his powers he gets weaker and weaker and he simply dies.

See almost perfect anons whether or not Peter and Mary Jane get back together, and then remarry that remains to be seen but at the very least this would fix some wrongs.

Also this would bring up another matter now that Gwen is alive again what happens with her? new possibilities open for her.
>>
>>156167205
>Paige.
>It's clearly an older 6160-esque Mayday.
They sure are jangling, dangling those keys, aren't they?
>>
>>156167921
>Muh Gwoo.
No one cares about Gwen.
>>
>>156168039
The appropriate response to jangly keys is the Spicy Doorknob
>>
>>156168069
I do and i want her back and honestly speaking i think that is the best solution just have Doom and Spider-Man team up and kick mephisto's butt and force him to make things right.
>>
>>156167921
>Okay I have it the solution
>[a bunch of retarded ESL fanfic-tier rambling bullshit]
No thanks, Pedro.
>>
>>156168165
And just why not? would this not make things right look shtiposting is always fun but seriously this HAS to end I say go for it and do it.
>>
>>156168141
>Muh Gwee
Gwen's dead and she's never coming back.
>>
>>156168297
Enough is enough anon I am tired I want things to be set right. This would fix most things. Fucking do it marvel. Have Spider-Man team up and kick mephisto's butt and force him to make things right.
>>
>>156168279
>would this not make things right
No, it wouldn't. First of all because it doesn't even make any god damned sense, and second because it's retarded.
>>
>>156167921
That would be perfect if Gwen decides to forgive Norman and marries him. It would complete the redemption arc that Norman has been on.
>>
Can you all please stop talking to yourselves for one whole minute?
>>
>>156167205
Motherfucker thats just may
>>
>>156167921
I think Mephisto should bring Gwen back but she comes back fat and retarded as part of his revenge.
>>
>>156168728
Paige = Page
Some villain is writing Peter's life now, if it's not Mephisto or Doom, I expect them to asspull another one that's as badly written as Cormac
>>
>>156169399
She’s apparently a reverse May. A childless couple really wanted a kid, so they made a pact with Mephisto.

Maybe Mephisto gave them Peter and MJ’s kid. “WELL IT JUST SO HAPPENS I HAVE A BABY LYING AROUND.”
>>
>>156169423
I was just discussing the idea of Peter's life being scripted earlier in this thread. We're being ripped off in record time now.
>>
>>156160550
Its a red herring.
>>
>>156157797
Its too late now. Even if they brought back the marriage, we still wouldn't return to pre-Clone Saga level of quality.
This shit was rigged since even before OMD.
>>
>>156157294
What is gonna happen with cormac is he sees peter sold his marriage to keep may alive and he gives up accepting that peter loves her more
>>
>>156169532
Marvel needs a Death Metal level reboot and fix
>>
You're all being baited hard. The fact that this is happening outside of ASM should be your first clue. And lets say the deal is done and over with, how does that fix ASM?
>>
>>156169936
We’re not saying that something is guaranteed to happen. But OMD getting scanned is a necessary step towards getting anything to happen at all.
>>
>>156169803
So we need a Thanos-tier evil version of Peter who went insane from trying to prevent May's death, got it
>>
>>156120591
At this point would anyone believe them? They've regularly done this "THIS TIME OMD IS GONE I PROMISE!" bait and switch half a dozen times already. Hell anyone still buying capeshit is a masochist at this point.
>>
>>156170174
This is further than Spencer got. And they fucking fired Spencer the moment it looked like he was going to mess with editorial’s beloved OMD.
>>
>>156170267
That just prove that Marvel is desperate.
>>
>>156170300
Good. The last time they went BREAK GLASS IN CASE OF EMERGENCY we got Ultimate Spider-Man for a while, so let’s see what an even more desperate Marvel gives us now.
>>
>>156167261
>>156167286
Which comes back to the original point that OMD is being undone and someone could theoretically invalidate the last 500 issues and start back at 545 or even earlier.
>>
>>156168576
Norman is getting a Gwen of his that from another earth did you not read the latest issue of ASM it hinted that he and Spider-Gwen will have a affair. Thus OG being with norman is off the table
>>
>>156170636
Spider-Gwen is OG Gwen now that’s why she’s come over to 616 she’s the true and honest Gwen.
>>
>>156168383
lol blame marvel for this mess they are the ones who dragged mephisto into Gwen's death thus making him a part of the story. And you are wrong it would make some things right first of all peter and MJ would get back their memories so that would be something. Secondy if mephisto is the cause of Gwen's death then shoud he not be the one to bring her back. And just think what this would do for norman,

>I am sorry i killed you Gwen I really am
>Yes you did and I know but part of the blame goes to that creature Mephisto since he got you to the deal with him.

see it does make things better he still has to deal with the fact he killed her but the real one responiable for her death is in fact Mephisto,
>>
>>156170772
That means Gwen can get together with Norman Osborn soon enough haha.
>>
>>156170771
No she is not and she never will.
>>
>>156170787
Yes she is through the power of Loki, the Cosmic Cube, and the TVA she merged with the original Gwen to become a brand new Gwen though this means the original is gone for good because Spider Gwen RECTON herself as the original.
>>
>>156170784
No he alerady has another Gwen. let the OG Gwen live her own life look she doesn't have to be with peter maybe given time she can put her life back together and find someone other then norman or peter
>>
>>156170815
Norman can only have one Gwen the real Gwen who is now Spider-Gwen the official Gwen of earth 616 forever. Sadly the original Gwen is a recton.
>>
>>156170813
have you never heard of time travel all one needs to go back before those changes toke place and prevent them from happening problem solved,
>>
>>156170835
Those times are no longer in place they were all recton.
>>
>>156170832
No Norman gets Spider-Gwen and the OG lives her own life. not a shitpost and don't fight me on this please this how things must be.
>>
>>156170856
Again time travel mate that's the solution
>>
>>156170883
>>156170902
That was recton mate the past is gone. Go as far back as you like and the old Gwen won’t be there.
>>
>>156170772
Anon you're overthinking this, yes OMD was retarded and Marvel is retarded for insisting on keeping its status quo against fan wishes.

But your poorly thought out ESL gibberish idea sounds retarded and bad like it was written by a 15 year old ESL retard. Your ideas are bad and you should feel bad.
>>
>>156170936
>Anon you're overthinking this, yes OMD was retarded and Marvel is retarded for insisting on keeping its status quo against fan wishes.
>But your poorly thought out ESL gibberish idea sounds retarded and bad like it was written by a 15 year old ESL retard. Your ideas are bad and you should feel bad.
Bad beacuse i want things to be set right now you listen and listen good. Since mephisto is the cause of Gwen's death he might as well be the one to bring her back and refuse to let that go ever untill that happens.
>>
>>156171073
Okay but what if he brings Gwen back as a fat retard would you still want her back when she’s like that
>>
>>156171458
Her death needs to be undone things need to be set right,
>>
>>156171614
Why do you want Marvel to turn your favorite character into a fat retard who's married to Norman Osborn? That's really weird.
>>
>>156170935
It's like the last japanese soldier fighting the war lost decades before.
The Gwen of the original creators is dead. The Gwen of the original creators didn't even have a set personality, as she went through three different iterations trying to stand out against MJ. The Gwen of the original creators can't ever exist again because said creators are dead and were undecided what she was, so it will be an invention again just like alt-universe Gwen.
It's only this fictions fiction angelic post-death character she became they want, only the moment she does come back she ceases to be an ideal.
>>
Did Ghost Spider really inherit/absorb 616 Gwens soul or is that some fake bullshit as opposed to the typical silly comic book bullshit?
>>
>>156171683
it's bullshit anon 616 Gwen soul is still around.
>>
>>156171764
>Muh Gwen.
She's dead and never coming back.
>>
>>156171764
I thought she showed up in Wells arc just to leave again, because Peter needs to get closure on Gwen ad infinitum even in his retirement home.
>>
>>156171683
That’s pretty much what happened, yeah. Earth-65 brought herself and her dad over to earth 616 by merging with the spirit of the original 616 Gwen.
>>
>>156170317
A literal anti-OMD would be making Peter a teen dad and having both Ben and May dead from the start
>>
>>156172503
Fuck it, lets do it. It can't be worse than Wells.
