Hi, new to the online Zootopia fandom. Just a quick question, any news about how do they really plan to explain birds? I mean, reptiles were already confusing with the simple "most are they are living abroad". It was pretty vague.Animals don't just pop into existence randomly on separate parts of the world, they evolve reactionary to each other. In a forest continent, a snake evolves to find and eat the eggs of a bird like an eagle, which eagle evolved super eye-sight to be able to catch rabbits and mice in the tall grass. Every animal from mammal to bird to reptile is deeply connected within their own biomes, they cannot just each evolve in a different continents like bird continent-reptile continent-mammal continent etc.So culturally when animals started to evolve in the prehistoric times, they would first make alliances with their closest neighbours. A Parrot wouldn't just form a bird nation with a Hawk, a Hawk would probably make alliences with a Deer in the forest and the Parrot would make alliences with the Anaconda or the Jaguar of the Jungle. So I'm just hoping the creators will come up with something interesting to explain why birds don't live in the city with the mammals they evolved side-by-side with for millions of years, and not just say that they have their own cities/continents.
>>156171075Nice copypasta.
>>156171097i didn't copypasta this, this is something I have been thinking about since Zootopia 2, but didn't really bother asking until now that I heard Z3 is in the making
>>156171075The second movie pretty much ruined the entire world of Zootopia. It’s clear the writers barely put any thought into it and the third movie will most likely be the same.
juddy's big butt
nick’s fat cock
>>156171294>>156171321fit together like a sword and its sheath
>>156171167I wouldn't go as far to say they ruined it. But the reptile-mammal conflict was far less interesting than the predator-prey narrative. I did hear that they plan to bring the focus back to predator-prey relationships with zootopia 3, though I wonder how that will tie in with birds
2 words: wild birds
>>156171075Every Lynx we see in 2 being evil assholes proves Bellwether right about predators.
>>156173005They should’ve just made the villains omnivores
>>156171075there's no BIRDS zootopia, the feather it's supposed to symbolize the stork, Judy is pregnant, the whole movie was just giving hints about it
>>156173005coming up so many of my friends were begging like "pleeease don't make Pawbert a twist villain, its so obvious that he is gonna be" and it was.I mean he was still a better villain than Bellwether because you actually feel betrayed by someone you thought is a friend to the characters, while Bellwether was more like just an acquaintance to Judy. I wish we would've seen some good lynxes too, not just the lynxley family
>>156173122the first 20 minutes of Z2 is a blast and after that it's scene after scene of "disney made us make this"i don't even hate that pawbert was the villain per se but it was done so poorly that it felt forced. though i do hate how they had fucking andy samberg voice him so he's evil theater kid zesty instead of fuckable zesty
>>156171075What real life political angle will they take with the birds in the 3rd one?
>>156173156I wouldn't say the story was THAT bad, it had potential, and they did had multiple scripts and ideas for reptiles, it was something they really wanted to do, but they really misunderstood the fandom the first movie created. They should've re-evaluated the ideas instead and compare it to what the fandom considers established canon. Everyone I know loved the uniqueness of the only mammal world that set it apart from other anthro settings, they would've seen that 99% of fanfics treated birds and reptiles are wild animals or pets. But what's done is done. But what I did find really annoying, that the constant romantic "will-they-wont-they" thematic suggestive imagery like the gondola ride, the heart in the cliffside while climbing it, the honey moon lodge all essentially lead to just another "its what you want to see in it". breadcrumbs that lead nowhere are not fun to follow, Disney, you want us to think there is romantic tension, release that tension or at least loosen it with a solid confirmation that at least one of them has fallen in love and is just too afraid to make a move/confess it to the other yet or something.
>>156173172dunno kinda feel like they exhausted every topic with Reptiles feeling both like metaphors for immigrants and displaced minority like the native americans at the same time.
>>156171075Z3 gonna have Gary in it again, so its already shit.No disrespect to Ke Huy, I love him, great actor, adorable voice, good job on Gary as a character, but Gary is a civilian. What he fuck would he have to do with Judy and Nick on a new case?I mean if he gonna have just a minute long cameo that's fine, but I feel like they are gonna somehow find a way to write him in as constant third wheel, when the movie should be about Judy and Nick.
>>156171075Birds are already reptiles btw
>>156173325>They really misunderstood the fandom the first movie createdNot even an understatement. It bewilders me how they messed up a sequel to Zootopia so much. All people wanted was to see more of the world, the pre-established characters, and the burgeoning relationship between Nick and Judy. Unfortunately the sequel tried to focus more on lore, new characters, and poorly-executed themes. And, like you mentioned, only teased Nick and Judy’s relationship but never firmly established anything. This is probably why even though Zootopia 2 was successful it had a much lesser impact than the first one. Not only that but the impact it did have was mostly just negative for the fandom.
