>>156174673The thing is that most "planewank" in the west is based around WW1 and WW2 era fighters, there aren't comics or series with the purpose to cater this niche Top Gun birthed back in the 80s. At most you see characters being Pilots as part of their backstory (War Machine, Hal Jordan, among others) but it is unusual for their whole thing being a one person war turning ace pilot. That's mostly why jets and their pilots are often showcased as disposable pawns when they fight things like Kaiju or Omniman.
