So what, if you can fly you can't or you'll get pulled over by a jet?
Because the Supervillains and threats will stop if you outlaw the powers?
This is somehow less thought out than the Registration act, at least there was a point before the Negative Zone gitmo and Thor Clones lost it.

Why is the style and quality of the artwork fluctuating wildly between pages?

I'd say the Kelly book was kinda building up Damage Control as a more active human response to the metahumans, at least in NYC, but it barely got time to stretch its legs and have any way to tie into what's going on here.

I honestly feel bad for him. Guy can't go 2 issues with Editorial announcing it's time for another event or crossover or what have you. The jump from Imperial to Death Spiral is still downright comical.

The Shogun is leaving Marvel anon, in his absence we have Sengoku Jidai.
If our daimyo Chip-Sama is to become Shogun, military ruler of all Marvel Comics, we must first defeat the current Shogunate, the Quaseda clan, capturing and holding the capital, LA.
>>
>>156175672
I know the keys are just jangling so I'm not putting in faith in OMD getting properly reversed, but what are the chance that at some point in this run Matt gets to learn Peter's identity again? It's overdue, and besides Colton he's the only one on the team who doesn't know
>>
>>156175716
At this point in time Peter continuing to have an identity is entirely arbitrary, most of his civilian cast have been subsumed to superheroics or dead. Remove Aunt May and he literally has no reason not to become the mask.
And Aunt May not being told when Peter would remember her knowing is just an act of in-universe selfishness and out of universe status-quo laziness.

My point is this sort of reaction and change should be the focus if you really are trying to milk amnesia drama.

>>156176278
Zdarsky isn't trying to milk it. He didn't know the spider office did this until they told him

You are excited for the umpteenth OMD reversal bait.
I am excited for Kamala getting killed again and Carol humiliation ritual.

We are not the same.
>>
>>156176875
I doubt they will kill Kamala again, even though a deal with the goddamn devil should have more consequences for Miles than guilt and retirement that was only referenced for a run.
Then again, the others basically have had consequence free deals so why not him? Only Ghost Rider gets the classic screwed by the devil routine.
>>
>>156175586
People should always take his word for it if he says the spider sense is acting. Literally never fails. But I guess he could start lying about it

It could easily be another b8 like the constuct kids of Wells with changing names.

>>156176890
She also died and was revived after, so it might not apply anymore, specially since she got a new body out of it.
>>
>>156175602
Thought Pete would finally bang Carol this time but Matt it here.
>>
>>156176907
Wait, so has Kamala had three goddamn deaths? When was the third?
>>
>>156176910
Carol was the one person in all of Peters replacement throwaway love interests after MJ outside Felicia I thought could go somewhere, and it lived and died on like two pages.
At least Matts with someone harder to kill than his usual romances.
>>
>>156176903
Maybe. Or Paige is the soul of the child Peter and MJ never had.
>Wells with changing names.
God, what a mess it was.
>>
>>156176907
That's bullshit, there would be no quirky chungus to clone from without the deal, she has to go.
>>
>>156176927
Hey, those kids mattered so much MJ is still talking about them in QIB.
Just don't ask a single fact about them. Or whether she is inspired by their memory or traumatized. We don't know that either.

>>156175822
i'll be honest, i only care about the baby daughter May Parker
>inb4 that was retconned
literally false
>>
>>156176911
Nah, she was revived by the Xmen in a new body and even fought the old one. It puts her in a Grey area since Krakoa revival are closer to cloning. So this Kamala would couldn't as a new individual.
>>
>>156176955
Big 2 doesn't do babies or children because they are idiots who don't see the development and stories to be made of those as worthwhile, so May getting aged up ASAP via magic bullshit if ever introduced is an unfortunate bitter given.
>>
>>156176965
So where is Kamala's soul? Does Mephisto get it? May never died died she simply was 'saved' from death. What the fuck are his powers limits?
>>
>>156176238
I can get behind that. Just have his old bad side and the character developed side at the same time, fuck it.

>supervillains when superheroes can't stop them without being arrested
>>
>>156176980
What if the May Parker the girl is talking about isn't the aunt, but the daughter? And Spider-man, along with us readers, don't remember (because we weren't shown)
So basically Peter did two pacts with Mephisto, one to save his aunt, one to save his daughter.
Or maybe "i want May Parker to live" and BAM, celestial laws saved both people named May Parker
>>
I'll be honest, i don't particularly like Zdarsky, but it's undeniable how much material a move like this "all people from hell are free" will give editorial.
Seemly from a business perspective, it's free real estate.

Under mugga cope the soul gets violently pulled into the kekoa clone for reasons. I suspect they were piggybacking Clone Conspiracy rules without reading the story in true marvel fashion but were too embarrassed to admit it, so they just left that unexplained forever.

The deal being revealed to him is the excuse to have him in the leadership position for this story, doubt they'll go further than that and bring up his lost baby and marriage.

>>
>>156178136
Yeah he doesn't have it anymore in the current issues
That just confirms that this is set before Graymalkin is shutdown
>>
>>156178156
There are three eyes of Agamotto, Gambit has acquired the left eye since the beginning of Uncanny X-Men and recently gave it up after the curse that was apparently on it began turning him into a dragon
Doom scammed Strange out of the Sorcerer Supreme role and he went to become the Sorcerer Supreme of Asgard instead, but he's still stuck in the Nine Realms and he isn't able to return since the bridge between Midgard and the Nine Realms have been shattered and everyone forgetting about the Asgardians existing means that no one is able to find him
Wanda became the Sorcerer Supreme following Doom's death the last issue of her solo ends with her relinquishing the title, but none of the other comics are referencing that yet

I can already see what's going to happen, Spidey will make another deal with Mephisto to renew his previous deal that keeps OMD in place in exchange to remove the angels from attacking

>>
>>156176893
The problem with telling people that his spider sense is going off is even Peter only understands it on an instinctual level. It mostly only tingles for things that are a direct threat to him. So it could be something big or it could just be a guy following him around.
>>
>>156179052
Eh, his Spider Sense has been written all kinds of ways
It’s supposed to be a field around him and Slott had it written so it makes him seem like a tweaker were it went off for every little thing like dust bunnies and potential paper cuts to food stuff like too much sugar in something so he would get weird around everyday things
Ditko era he could feel Flash getting his ass beat from several blocks away

So it look as though Mephisto wants to collect on all his prior deals, and the Angel People want to annul them instead. It's just that Mephisto's method involves killing the people who made a deal with him directly and harvesting their hearts, potentially as a method of accumulating additional power. And the Angels instead nullify the deals before Mephisto can collect on them, and only kill the ones who try to resist. I don't think that stuff like renewing the deals Mephisto made is going to work, because that's not what Mephisto is after. Making more deals doesn't benefit him in any way, he's desperately trying to collect on all his bargains instead. Mephisto winning means he claims May and Peter's hearts and they both die, and the Angels winning also means the OMD deal is undone and May still dies. I don't see our heroes working with Mephisto to reclaim Hell on his behalf either, if only because there's nothing in what's been previewed so far that foreshadows a confrontation between the Avengers and Dr. Doom, or an uneasy alliance with Mephisto. I definitely don't think an alliance with Mephisto is ever going to fly with the audience considering his history with Spider-Man.

Killing Mephisto, though, voids the conflict completely. There's no need to annul the bargains Mephisto is trying to collect on when he can't collect on them.

You can’t kill Mephisto or some cosmic bs happens that’s why Doom did that deal with him in Hell instead of killing him himself

I really don't think that the marriage will be coming back. Steve Wacker is coming in as EIC and he has previously stated that he doesn't like the marriage. He also was the guy behind BND and the thrice-monthly ASM which came straight out of OMD so I can only speculate that his stance hasn't changed.

They will go the half-ass route of MJ and Peter together 'passionately' but not marrying, so they can have a Wells run on demand whenever.
Read their letters and opinions, and you quickly conclude these are the most unromantic people in the business. They have internalized the wife and chain where life ends thing.
>>
>>156182958
The truth is they just hate Mary Jane they rather have Peter be wiith Gwen, that's why they shit so hard on Mary Jane
>>
>>156183037
MUH GWEN and its consequences have been a disaster for the Amazing Spider-Man.
>>
>>156183057
Look buddy Mary Jane is now a very difffrent person then before OMD and she is a cheater due to Paul. So truth be told I rather Gwen be brought back and let her and Peter be with each other.
>>
>>156182708
The problem is, even if he doesn't want the marriage back, he's really got no choice in the matter. If they do "OMD is resolved but the marriage doesn't come back" that would've worked back when he was editor of ASM in the early 2010s. Not after the disaster of the Wells run and the constantly fumbled aftermaths (remember the Mary Jane as Venom run?).
>>
>>156182849
This lineup is reminding me of the times people were trying to hype up who Ronin was and some of the guesses thrown out there were Daredevil and Miracleman.
>>
So, does anyone have any particular guesses for what might happen next with OMD in Zdarsky's new Avengers book?

Does Spidey confront Mephisto about what happened? Is Mephisto cagey about the details or does he let the cat out of the bag entirely just to mock Pete? Does either scenario bring out any lost memories or does Peter have to ask his newfound best bro cousin to use his wacky soul-reading powers to bring them to the surface? Does Pete let May or MJ know what happened if he finds out.
>>
Mephisto's deals and OMD. This will be the biggest risk they take and how they will handle it but they already shot themselves in the foot with Chip saying 'I am not the guy to do it' when it comes to undoing it. So why even use it in this book and be the one to let Peter know about him making a deal with the devil if you are not gonna resolve it? Is it to push ASM to do it? Because by the looks of the plot here, the Avengers are actually gonna fight to PREVENT the deals from being undone...so Peter will literally fight to DEFEND OMD...Surely they can see how bad that will look, right? They really cannot go 'oh deals are undone' but then act like it is business as usual and nothing will really change. Giving people a bait like that but not resolving it properly will only bring an even bigger backlash. And if they are playing with OMD already, MJ should be in this book too.

I cannot emphasise enough how divorced the modern marvel bullpen is from what their audience wants.

>He's fought Juggernaut Phoenix 5 Colossus and Magik and Red Hulk
and ended up looking like a roadkill in every one of these, while the opponent was not even treating him seriously, and has done ZERO damage to either of them. He's a street tier guy who can maybe throw a truck on a good day, not a Hulk or Thor or Thing. He can't just trade blows with anyone in this caliber, he can only hang by dodging like his life depends on it (because more often than not it does) and by abusing the shit out of his plot armor (the unstoppable Juggernaut suddenly becomes incapable of escaping cement).
I could understand him attempting to fight Infernal Hulk today, as futile as it was, because he was protecting someone and buying time for other help to arrive. Here he initiates a fight against someone who didn't even want to fight or do anything particularly disruptive at all.
>>156181382
Colton tears the webbing off on the next page, it didn't do anything besides inconveniencing him for a second.
>>
>>156183301
Spider-Man isn't street tier.
He's on the streets because he wants to protect people directly, but powerwise he's way above guys with gadgets, assassins, expert fighters, you know, street threats.
>>
>>156183169
Nothing. Nothing important would happen in an Avengers book for starters, even ignoring every other piece of context that would guarantee you nothing will ever happen.
>>
>>156183360
He's far closer to "street tier" than he is to "can bench press a building for fun" tier

I'm convinced that Peter will not get an answer on what he gave up to save Aunt May, and there will just a poignant panel at the end with a wistful worried look. Kelly won't bother addressing it.
So basically ringing the cell bars with the baton. If anything does happen, it won't be until Mid-Next Year. And Wacker is no marriage proponent.

Because every time they outlaw superpowers they also hire a bunch of people with superpowers to enforce the no-superpowers rule. Some misguided heroes, some villains looking for a pardon or carte blanche to wreck people and get paid by the government to do it. Blah blah, yadda yadda. Happens every fucking time.
>>
>>156175610
I mean does anyone even remember the number of times some tragedy involving super heroes resulted in a crackdown only for another tragedy involving superheroes to remind everyone why they need superheroes? How many times are they going to rid this same penny pony? It always ends up in the same destination. You got nowhere, not fast, and nothing was really accomplished.
>>
This is too good for Spider-Man, and knowing how marvel works, the only thing I can see is
>OMD isn't destroyed, it just returns the memories of Aunt May knowing Peter is Spider-Man
>The world finds out Spider-Man made a deal with the devil and hate him, he loses his good reputation
>MJ cucks him again because Pete sacrifised his marriage for a dying old hag who was happy she would get to see her husband in heaven

that's definitely not true, he's had Uni-Power, Hulk's power and Juggernaut's power at different points, and probably a shitload of other ridiculous one-time power-ups
as for what he currently has, it clearly doesn't put him on the same standing with top powerhouses either, judging from how he couldn't do anything to either Colton or Infernal Hulk. And let's be honest, no matter the power-ups, he's going to keep struggling with his usual rogue gallery in his own books

Was never going to happen, for a variety of reasons it's something that will never be over until it is undone/moved on from by the next gen. However the Spoffice had an ebb of the usual resentment when Spencer was in.
Wells was basically everything wrong with post OMD ASM thrown into one run, and brought it all roaring back. Now the jailer is rattling his keys and it's not going to be good.

You don’t create children because it immediately starts creating issues. Like the kid has to age, otherwise it’s just googoogaga shit forever and nobody is interested in that. Look at Franklin, was he an interesting character as a forever child if you didn’t constantly do “oh no he’s got superpowers!” stuff? No. And eventually he had to be aged so that you don’t just repeat the same beat over ans over. And unless you do timeskip time travel bs to age them up, any development in a child means every single other character in the universe has to age too, and you can’t do that. It breaks the fictional world.
>>
>>156188405
So age the kid naturally, it hasn't stopped or been a problem for others. Time is the most fungible thing in comics. Use the baby years and toddler years for good stories, and then age them gradually for they aren't forever Maggie.
>>
>>156187094
>he couldn't do anything to either Colton

>>
>>156188414
>So age the kid naturally
That is impossible when nobody ages normally
>it hasn't stopped or been a problem for others.
It absolutely has. That’s why kid characters disappear and reappear older because they were stuck in a different universe or timeline. Or come back from the death magically older. It always requires asspulls
>>
>>156188930
>>So age the kid naturally
>That is impossible when nobody ages normally
Not him but this literally hasn't stopped Normie from being a baby and slowly growing into a teen while Peter remains 25-28
>>
>>156188948
They can get away with that because he's the kid of supporting characters. He vanishes for months/years at a time. A child of a main character, forget it.
>>
>>156188948
Normie goes literal years between appearances and that lets writers do whatever they want with his age.
