Despite it overall being much lower effort than real art, AI stuff DOES improve pretty dramatically with effort/actual care put in. But it's pretty rare for people who actually want to put in effort to be using AI, I suppose. It's a shame that passionate-but-unable-to-draw people don't make up a larger chunk of the users.

The problem, as you say, is that it also creates an infinite groundswell of trash art. The is also compounded by the fact that the most zealous anti-AI people are crying not because they have some real moral or ethical reason to oppose it, but because they themselves were bad artists, but they're bad artists who aren't smart enough to know how to use AI. They were cheering when they thought it would replace the people they hated: now they suddenly have some profound moral value on the topic when it's their own ass getting zeroed out.
