An AI sloptube video just showed me the miracle of rust conversion into phosphate and how Big Coating has tried to kill it for the last 70 years. Is it that easy, I paint over steel with this cheap stuff and it never rusts again?

I always thought a phosphate coating was something you had to do in a hot dip tank, I didn't think it was as simple as painting on phosphoric acid.

And of course big hardware doesn't sell it here in canada, because why would they when they can sell you $20 cans of spray paint that flake off after a year.

stop with the fag speak.

>big hardware doesn't sell it here in canada
more fag talk and also just because you live in retardistan does not mean we all have the same thing.

I can find rust converter in ANY hardware store even walmart.

you are doomed.

No. its more like you wire brush your rusty shit really well, slather this shit on and the rust comes back in a couple of years instead of tomorrow because you didnt get it all. Its just a poor way to save a bit of time prepping for paint on shit you dont care about
>And of course big hardware doesn't sell it here in canada
Also incorrect.

Yeah but what stops me from just painting it on again in a couple of years to get all of it? It sounds way easier than sanding down to bare metal, priming and then painting.

If it really works then I would just slather this shit on the underside of my car, the salt here is so bad that a brand new car looks like a wreck underneath after a couple of years.

Also $16 for a tiny bottle that won't cover shit, yeah big coating is trying to keep this out of the hands of the plebs.

the paint you would have put on after that shit? you would have to sand that off, use this stuff, then prime, then paint.
>I would just slather this shit on the underside of my car
it "works" technically. but its going to be atoms thick at best brushing it on instead of that dip tank. so its not going to work without getting the majority of the rust off mechanically first. by all means knock yourself out looking for a miracle, but your "conspiracy" is paper thin. you don think one of those "big coating" companies would have broken rank and made trillions by now if this "miracle" of yours actually worked? its for sale, right now, and i don't think people would mind paying a lot more than that if it worked as well as you want it to. so ask yourself why isnt it more popular?

Almost everything that's popular here is due to marketing/psyops campaigns and not because of quality or efficacy. Have you never heard of enshittification?

You can convert rust just by boiling in water or steaming.
>>
>>2985598
Uninhibited acid does a lot of damage to the base metal as well.
>>
>>2985692
Explain, you mean it ruins the surface finish? I mean if it's already rusted then it's already ruined.
>>
what no one does is actually touch every inch of the bottom of their vehicle every couple months staying ahead of rust.

corrosives are corrosive, but prepping rust is annoying. nothing is perfect. if you got the time, go for it, if not, dont judge

> steaming
This. I was blown away when found out you can just boil or steam rust with water and it turns into black oxide.

Also, i got rust converter at canadian wall mart. It’s pretty common. Also has tannic acid in it as well as phosphoric acid.
