What were the worst incidents you had while trying to /diy/ something? Some dumb shit I did: >Electrocute myself while trying to change a smoke detector cause the power was still in>Watertight sealant on a new drain, only to find out it was still in plastic once I was done and let it dry for 2 days>Drill into electric cable>Attach pipes that turn out to be leaking a few days later
Not sure if it applies, but I was adding a bltouch to my custom 3d printer the other day. I fucked up the wiring and killed the board.Once I replaced the board and wired everything correctly, I realized that I do way better bed leveling by hand (it's a small voron v0 bed).Feeling like a retard.
>>2986536>Electrocute myselfThat means you died.
>>2986628you cant spell electrocute without cute uwu
I trusted someone else
One time I had a computer psu with the lid off , for some fucking reason I grabbed the end, plugged it in and zapped myself real good
My worst injury: I ripped off a thumbnail when I was trying to pry on something with a flathead and it slipped and my other hand was unfortunately positioned Worst I've seen: A guy at work got his ring caught in a roller chain and it degloved his finger... oof. Still makes me cringeRunner up: My bro in law was working on an ATV, he had the spark plug wire pulled but the end of the wire was still touching metal so gas shot out, and caught his arm and part of his face on fire
>>2986536I used to be a /diy/er like you, then I took a grinder to the knee
>>2986648>gas shot outwut
Been swapping the car engine, only to realize halfway the oil isn't drained. 20 years later - rain puddles there still have rainbow.
>cut a vein open when trying to open a paint can with a knife>drilled into finger with small drillbit>zap from touching exposed wire that was supposed to be offNot accident:>drill into two cables when looking to pass a third cable (not powered), irrepairable, had to pull whole new sections. Later turned out I didn't even need the third cable.>pull cable for 3-phase between two buildings, bury it underground. Later find out 2 wires are corroded after taking up water, had to settle for 1-phase (previously the cable was used for a deep well pump)>install large central (water) heating manifold, complicated layout. Later have to change things on it, impossible, no union fittings, have to cut the input/output pexal pipes for disassembly>still didn't add union fittings though
