>Job has machining/handling/postprocessing of composite materials as one of the things we do
>Workers dont wear any protection whatsoever, leave their site with hands blacker than tar and lungs full of dust

I've changed 3 workplaces that had absolutely zero relation to each other and this just keeps fucking happening. One of them even had a department for fiberglass and the guys there seemed to be the only ones to share my sentiment regarding this whenever i brought it up just because it had some real boomers working there. Meanwhile the rest, from everymen all the way to engineers keep spouting shit like:
>Haha well we only live once anon :)
>Eh i am feeling fine
>Cant handle a bit of coal dust boy?
>Oh ok. *proceeds to practically snort it*
Like what the FUCK is going on with workplace safety? This is some India-tier convergent negligence.

Only you can prevent forest fires.

You some kinda commie?

It's wild. It's a meme that infects workplaces. Sometimes you can have one that's not too bad but it can spiral out of hand really fast.
>>

They are secretly obsessed with having "working hands".
>>
>>2987766
Sounds like the workforce and low management is no longer white dominant.
>>
>>2987766
Let me guess... the business is owned by Jews and staffed mostly by illegal browns.

Call him what you want but you can't call him a liar. Your genes might be too weak for this kind of work anon

Imagine wanting to prolong your suffering on this gay and retarded planet... Meanwhile you're probably wishing boomers would just die already so younger blood can take their place.

They want to be servile and glorify killing themselves for a master. It's people like >>2987950 and >>2987933 that perpetuate it. You say you want better workers rights or a work life balance and the very people that stand to gain the most will mock you and kiss boots. My solution was to become management and run my people how I see fit. Would recommend that or to start your own business. It's only worth working hard for yourself. Everyone else will take advantage of you.

I dealt with this and just wore a respiratory, lead man gave me shit and I quit

>working with a guy whose father literally just died of lung cancer
>still won't wear a mask

wcyd bros

Masks are just too uncomfortable to wear for long periods of time, and annoying to use periodically for short periods of time.

When is someone just going to invent noseplugs or something?

None of your bosses give a fuck about your safety, unless OSHA comes down on their asses. I was in a wire-spooling shop for a while. We all wore badges that would turn colors if our copper exposure got too high. You could put one of those badges INTO a machine full of copper dust and it wouldn't go off.

That's actually pretty funny

>>2987766
If you are smart enough to want to wear PPE than you are too smart for this job and should be looking elsewhere. Not giving a shit about worker safety is the norm for the lowest tiers and won't change.

I was just thinking recently, is carbon fiber really any better than asbestos in terms of worker hazards? Seems like it's got a lot of the exact same issues. I wonder if we're gonna look back in 50 years and see it the same way we look at asbestos now.
