I have a feeling in the future houses "decorated" with solar panels like this with complete disregard towards looks will be a mark of an impoverished area
>>2989366no dumb ass the future of houses is solar panels made in the shape of roof tiles.https://getpuresolar.com/solar-roofing-tiles-innovative-photovoltaic-solutions-for-modern-homes/
>>2989376>what is reading comprehension
>>2989366just like that game cyberpunk, where cheap cars have a DIY solar panel on top>>2989376>poor people can afford anything
Better than graffiti
>>2989417>*sprays graffiti over solar*
>>2989366thats probably true. solar panels are free energy after costs, and the negative externalities of producing a solar panel are confined to shitholes like China and India. The cheaper they get, the more subsidies they offer consumers, the more commonplace they will be.
I have a feeling that there is at least 20-30 million luddites in this world who first learned about solar in like 2005. They looked at the cost of panels then, looked at the cost of electricity then, and then 20 years later they still spout the same ancient facts over and fucking over day after day on any online presence they have acting so adamant that they know something and everyone else is wrong. If you look at the data, since 2006, solar has dropped in price by 90%, while electricity costs at least in the US on average rose 73% form 11¢/kw to 19¢/kwToday right now this minute, if you own a property, and you DON'T have solar on it, THAT in itself is a mark of impovershment. You'd have to be fucking retarded not to.
>>2989505I'm rich so I don't give a fuck about the price of electricity. Your argument is invalid.
>>2989549Good for you
>>2989550Thanks. I'm not actually rich by the way, just making a point.
>>2989549One of my buddies is at 3mil total comp and bitches endlessly about his power costing 1200 a month and he even has solar lol
>>2989566>his power costing 1200 a month and he even has solar lowhat in the fuck is he doing? if he charges his e-car at home, fine. but if not, how would anyone have a bill like that?
>>2989505At this point you need solar in the next 5-10 years because the power company isn't making enough money to keep the lines working. Everyone is going to need their own enclaves
>>2989589Shit you're right. The moment they realize they can get away with dismantling powerlines that are expensive to maintain (plus all the copper is delicious especially at current copper prices) they will do it. It may take a bit of nudging grid connected customers by hiking the electicity costs but nothing too impossible>but how will they make money without grid usersThey'll find a way. Not having to maintain power lines will already make them quite happy
>>2989376I feel like small tiles would be an excuse to reuse defective panels but the real houses will get full size ones like this picture.
>>29895682 evs, massive house, hot cliamate, and lives in middle of nowhere so every drive is like 20 miles
>>2989592That won't happen for 15+ years. It will just become inconsistent. More public safety power shutoffs. Until we get to a point where we have power every other day like in the developing world
>>2989592In my city the phone company wanted to get rid of all of their pots lines because it was too costly to maintain.Last I checked they were at $1200 a month
>>2989686The city taxes them on every pair of wire in the ground working or not
>>2989686In my city, telco uses pots for lifeline service for elderly. The minute they replace it with fiber, broadband becomes "available" along that street. And every sperglord gamer wants service.>>2989687Simple. Telco installs above ground. In fact, they were stringing some copper pair cables near me a few weeks ago. But maybe to replace the cable that meth addicts cut down.
