I don't care if it kills the whole lawn, I just don't want to spray herbicide and get cancer. What can I spray to kill entire patches of a lawn that is more affordable than herbicide other than using black plastic cover.

Concentrated acetic acid designed for this purpose, they usually put Clove oil in it.

A weed torch can bake and kill the weeds without even burning them.all the way

Mow them down as short as possible then cover the whole area with nylon and keep putting more when weeds find a way out, it should take a year.
You will be left with soil free of any plant. Herbicides work, but what you are left with is exposed bad soil in whcih only the toughest plants can survive or be seeded by wind or birds, aka weeds.
I had a lawn badly infested with ambrosia, nothing else on it so i killed it all with large nylon like i described but then had to quickly plow the ground and seed wild flowers and whatnot then rolled a big diy roller, a large pipe filled with concrete to push the fuckers in
Some ambrosia did come back but thanks to the variety, it didnt take over again.

Just use a string trimmer and/or mower >>2995664

A proper string trimmer will clear that out in a few minutes and you can avoid using toxic cancer-causing chemicals entirely.

vinegar, salt, and a few drops of dish soap. put it in a pump sprayer and spray the weeds in the hottest part of the day.

im with this fag. If you arent going to use chemicals then you pretty much have to physically remove the sunlight. You might as well just pour some cement at this point though.

If you just want to save your lawn then you just need to do all the normal shit. Mow frequently, water, pull weeds, aerate if necessary, make sure you have the right grass and re plant and fertilize so that it crowds out weeds.

I will add that for smaller areas, waxboard (ask any grocery store, broccoli and lettuce is usually shipped in wax coated boxes and they just throw them in the dumpster) keeps light and water out. Lay it out, put some bricks on it to keep it down, and leave it for several weeks. Then turn the top few inches of soil and lay the waxboard down again for a few weeks. It killed all the dandies, crabgrass, even the creeping morning glory. Just understand you NEED to get a new cover established quickly once it's up or the weeds will just come back. Clover is good for low effort weed blocking and it helps the soil.

Pure undiluted D Limonene
I had a bunch left over from soap making, put some in a spray bottle and it killed everything in an hour. Like the weeds and grass turned grey. It's biodegradable so it wont leave lasting effects.

> more affordable
> D limonene

I'm not sure that stuff is more affordable. I think it is poisonous isn't it? Real Turpentine comes from pine trees and is also natural yet poisonous.

D-Limonene is used as a flavoring agent and a nutritional supplement. The LD50 is around 5g/kg. It is acidic (down to around 3.2 pH) in solution, so you'll have chemical burns long, long before you reach any risk of acute toxicity.

Unless you're a cat. Felines can't metabolize it, and it is highly toxic to them.

Weed eat them. If you kill it with any other method the weed is still in the ground. Leaf blow it and do something with the excess if you are expecting rain, because they will grow back if you leave them. Do it all before the sun gets too hot to get the longest time out of your yard. I'm sorry, its the only option. Get a Stihl, there cheapest model rips with .105. Echos are okay. Or a clone if you are "nifty power tools" asshole. Don't buy electric if you are mowing a forest down.

>Vinager and salt
I accidentally killed a tree this way.
I didn't realize the area I was treating was draining down into the tree.
It worked really good on the patch I was trying to kill tho.

If you don't care then take a mattock to it until you only have dirt left.
