Basically, I want something like picrel that can fold in half for storage and transport. Recessed play surface, skirt rails for accessories, dining table cover, etc. There are some offerings online (and I've seen some diy solutions), but they all seem to fail on at least one point. In any case, what is the best way to handle the legs? I'm mainly concerned with maintaining rigidity in the center section. I don't want it to sag or wobble significantly in the center.
Embed aluminium box sections on the edges, connect them with a steel hinge, use removable steel legs and bolt them to box sections. Then cover it up with woodworking bullshit to make it look nice.
>>2995725define best.I get so tired of people wanting the "best" thing but don't say what the think is "best".your best and my best are not going to be the same thing.

>>2995725I found back this old pic semi-related. Awesome.
>>2995749autism has nothing to do with it. what is best? define it. if you cannot define it how can anyone tell you what it is.
>>2995759I'll take that as a yes.
>>2995749autism takes its name from the same latin root as auto and could be described as "selfism", and people with it tend to develop the theory of mind late in life. Theory of mind is knowing that other people have different viewpoints, understanding that there is in fact a different mind inside someone else, and things could look different to them. The fact that you singled out that particular post for an accusation of autism doesn't speak well of your understanding of the world around you. Nigga you dumb.
>>2995725Put the tabletop inside of a frame so it can be flipped along its central axis with an axle running through the center and pillow block bearings at each end in the frame. Dining table is flat and gaming table is recessed/clearcoated.

>>2995729Aluminum extrusion would work I think, but I'm not sure what "woodworking bullshit" would work here. Veneer? But then the edge of the veneer would be obviously visible where the channel is. Not to mention that anything attached to the t slot would likely wear on that edge.
