Years ago, bought a house with a few acres. One acre was grass, had old, mud filled, busted impact sprinklers. Replaced them all with K-Rain rotors, and never really got even coverage. Brown areas and weird, green circles, despite theoretically good sprinkler coverageThis spring I decided enough was enough, and spent a bunch of money on Rainbird 8000 series rotors. Grass turned green within weeks. You get what you pay for, I guess
>>2995833Hello, fellow Anonymous, I also love my RainBird® 11000 Series Rotors and RainBird® ESP-LXIVM controller with Intuitive Touch Display. Before RainBird® my lawn was literally, figuratively and metaphysically a desert and now my RainBird® powered lawn is literally, figuratively and metaphysically an oasis, it was worth every dollar, and it sure was a lot of dollars!
>>2995840nah all that other shit suckskrain just sucks at rotorstheir controllers might be ok, idkcan't be worse than rainbird
Hunter Industries MP Rotator
Lawns with poor sprinkler coverage can get soil differences which can lead to grass of different varieties growing, so it might be an indirect issue. With sprinkers, heads that are impacted often dump water close to the head if not outright pour water onto the lawn. Which causes the same issue. Often the technician who installed the system did everything right and the owner just never maintained it, so there's often a compelling reason to repair it without actually changing the set-upThe cost of many irrigation supplies is bullshit, they're plastic parts. Many are seriously overpriced. It depends if it's a critical application and if you're able/ committed to maintaining them.
>>2996422Yeah, this is likely a mix of bad maintenance and 30 years of changesI think next year I'll resod the entire acre, get some uniform grass. I already know it's a mix of cool and warm season grass But I will say that the RainBird rotors and RVAN shit are actually greening things up again. Haven't put in hunter MP rotators yet, didn't want something tied to a tool, but might give em a try. I've been staying away from hunter because they look like more expensive krain.
Hi,I need to redo my small garden irrigation system, the weird shape and lack of my experience does not help. Currently running overground gardena micro drip line with screw in nozzles around the edge, which kind of works, but the coverage could be better, nozzles also break and are easy to step onto. I want to put a couple of pop-up sprinklers, but not sure about positioning and nozzles. Should the spray out or inwards (like the current system)?I had a guy who could do it, but he stopped responding. Is this something DIYable for a handy guy or should I wait for my guy? I have a department store (Bauhaus) nearby for pipes and fittings, but would go with rainbird or hunter for the sprinklers themselves.X marks the water outlet. Left and bottom is the apartment, there is around 50 cm hedge and then fence on the outside. And this is a ground level apartment with a small garden in europe.ty
watering grass to grow a lawn is the most midwit thing imaginable.
>>2999783If it doesn't matter that the street/fence gets sprayed then it's always easier to place shit along straight edges and better to not water your house, so outward spray.>/diy/ableYes if you don't mind the digging. Ask Grok to hold your hand on components.
>>2999785yes, grow native species in your yard so they don't try to kill themselves every summer and winter
