>3200 pounds>1.3 liter 3 cylinder engineare these basically disposable @ 100k miles?
>>2995898It was probably made to last until just after the warranty expires
>>2995898137 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque should be enough.
>>2995898>gm productYes
>>2995898The 1.3l has tons of turbos failing at 50k, so it wont even make it to 100k without very expensive repair work done.Well maybe you should go buy a TRUCK, a Silverado with a big 2.7l turbo should be better>huge amounts of failing turbos>huge amount of injectors failingWell, maybe you should just get you a 5.3l V8 like a MAN>active fuel management causing collapsing lifters sending shrapnel into the combustion chamberWell maybe just stick with the big boy 6.2l>machining tolerances so back, crankshafts wear and grenade engine>chevy tells you to get fucked, put heavy oil in it and pretend its okAt least they have real transmissions not a shitty CVT>chevy intentionally using shitty transmission fluid in the 8 speed which sucked up moisture, causing torque converter failures which violently jerked and shaked the trucks as you were driving At least their 10 speed is better>poor tolerances on the valve bodies caused premature wear and failure leading to extremely violent shifts and grenading Well maybe you should just buy one of their EVs>fast charging faults leaving vehicles unable to move>batteries built with defective cells from the factory causing metldown and cars burning to the groundAre you like a rock? The Heartbeat of America?Buy their econobox
>>2995898Maybe, but not for that reason.
>>2995898>are these basically disposable @ 100k miles?everything is disposable when you are not serving it
>>2995898I hate these new crossovers. Designed to be enough of a pain to work on so that you take it to the dealer. Just buy the cleanest 05 crv/element you can find.
>>2995960Turbos on non-diesels are always garbage. They're alright for racing and cars that don't get driven all that much, but a mistake for daily drivers. All modern cars are basically disposable anyway. By 50K you're replacing ball joints, control arms, brakes/calipers, timing belts, etc. It might not be so bad if these repairs were cheap, but they aren't.
>>2996012what the fuck are you consoomingMy next car has a 150k mile timing belt interval, my current 25 year old shitbox 50k
>>2996044>he believes manufacturers claims
>>2995898I don’t know about chevy engines but most cars in my country have been 1.0-1.4L turbo for decades and the consensus for normally driven, well maintained small cars is that 200k is very doable. There are some exceptions like the wet belt Ford and PSA engines and the pre 2016 VAG timing chain but even poor quality Renault 1.2 TCe do 200k miles happily
>>2996045>He doesn't understand modern timing belt engine engineeringThey aren't your granpa's 80's shitbox anymore
>>2996012>laughs in 350k mi 1.8t b5.5 poonsat with nothing but maintenance wear partsbought it from a little ole lady @9k and drove the wheels off it for 7 yrs with a miserable commute. the factory water pump impeller was dissolved when i did the 1st timing belt @110k. did another @260k and never touched it again. it was still on a genuine vw clutch that was put in @75k before i got it. milage had dropped from 37 to 29 by the end and it was burning/leaking 1qt every 2500mi
>>2996069>bought at 95k
>>2996070Yeah you gotta buy em after they're well broken in(150k)
>>2996067>they've suddenly made rubber that lasts longerLOL I'll bet you think their switch to 15K oil change intervals is a smart move, too. >>2996069>i've only had to replace the timing belt 3 times!
>>2996101>gets called out on turbo bullshit >attempts to move goalposts to non issues thanks for letting us know you have 0 mechanical skills
Why is everyone fighting about timing belts? Its 2026, everyone is using wet timing belts that block oil passages and blow out at 50k miles. Its the same as having to buy expensive new CVT belts at under 100k
>>2995898Aren't these bugmen domestic market models? Why are they importing them back to burgerstan?
