I just got a used neo max for $200 USD with the 5 watt laser etcher, both like new in box off fbmp.

Last 3d printer I had was in 2012 and was a new makerbot replicator 2x, and it was horrendous. I am quite happy with this new printer thus far...

However... I come to ask, is there any compelling reason not to swap this to direct drive from bowden, either with the official sprite kit or print the bracket myself. Its speed is already limited by the bed movement, so I am not sure I would lose much since its a slow one anyway, ringing probably wont be an issue, etc.

Anyone else have knowledge of this setup?

Nah, still nothing.

It's overpriced and bad only a retard would buy ender in 2026.

There is literally no reason not to swap to direct drive on that thing if you already have dual Z rods.
However this changes the carriage assembly a lot so maybe you won't be able to use the laser etcher attachment easily

at that point the price would creep up to something like a Kobra X or Sparkx i7. Why buy this outdated poc in the first place?
>>
>$200 USD
This is bait.

I have an ender 3 and i have done hundreds of prints with it. Change it to a direct extruder and get a PEI plate.
It will last you many years.

PEI? Not glass?
