>>2998069There are actually multiple contacts on the bulb and the socket when there are multiple clicks on the switch not just hot and neutral. Its like neutral, hot, hot. Three clicks alternates between one hot or the other, than both at the same. Two I suppose would just do one or the other. Each filament is a different size, or brightness. My aunt had a three way lamp and it was all fucked so I had to learn a lot about this to fix it.
