>>2999049We only buy tools on this board
>>2999050Surely you build cool shit with those tools. Right? You wouldn't turn them into collectibles like baseball cards or Funko Pops and let them sit, right?
>>2999051I post pictures of them on 4channel.
>>2999049i didnt just build it but i just sold this tank and skid 2 days ago for $800i had to build the tank back in the bizarre days o kungflu when i couldnt get a new one to replace an aluminum one the same size that was coming apart at the seams from fatigue. the skid was from a few years prior to that
Most recent project I have a pics of is some drawers I made for organizing some tubing, small flat, and rod near my bandsaw. Added dividers to the shelves to help keep things segregated as god intended, and built those 4 big drawers under the bottom shelf to put short pieces of shafting and bushing material in for lathe projects. Probably put some non ferrous material in one of them too, Brass, Aluminum, etc. Have one loaded up with brackets and flanges right now.
>>2999063Project before that was re-doing the entire air system in my shop with a 1" Pex-al-pex loop around the entire thing with 1" drops as well. Added a 3/4" ball valve and chicago fitting to one of the drops in my lean-to so I can back my pull behind compressor in there and run it if I need insane amounts of air. According to the calculations I did I should be able to flow the entire 130CFM my towable compressor will put out through the system with room to spare. Before that it was adding this back splash to my outside bench and adding slots to organize a bunch of pipe wrenches, crescents, some pry bars and tire spoons, etc. I do a shit ton of work at this bench as it is outside and keeps the mess out of the shop. Having these tools close at hand and organized has been friggin awesome.
>>2999049made these to ordertheyre something to do with using a drill to spin a gearbox for assembly before the facemount motir gets hung. i dont ask too many questions so long as the check clears
>>2999049i bought a floor cleaner with a broken handle/wiring box. i couldn't find a company that could sell or source the part #, so i hacked together a retarded abomination of 3d printed parts, an aluminum project box enclosure, and some strain relief/cable grip glands.(it has 2 handles. because the project box is a cast part, it has a draft angle for mold release, which means i can't just "mirror" the handle in fusion 360 without the 2nd handle being off center and all fucked up -- and i AM too lazy to manually draw the second handle in CAD.)i actually drew up the handle/wiring box to be machined from aluminum billet but this idea went out the window when i realized it would cost like $100 to have machined, even in china.
>>2999203and the finished product. still need to buy some 10mm washers to clamp the handle grips in place. thank you ORECK for not selling a fucking replacement handle assembly.
>>2999055What type of tank was it? Like what did you need it so badly for during the Hong Kong Fluey?>>2999063Organizing shit always feels good. Good shit, anon.>>2999184What do you use to machine those? And how long you been doing it? I know fuck-all about metal work.>>2999330Good shit, anon. Building dumb shit is fun, but a functional project feels good as hell.
>>2999049this is a new computer and motion controller box for my burn tableair filter is a random spare for a old b&s engine i had on the shelf which hopefully doesnt plug up too fastjust trying to keep the metallic plasma smoke from ruining everything the chink box is mediocre. thin and dents easy and i cut myself about 3x on the razor burrs but a nice enclosure wasnt in the budget dont roast me too hard im not a panel sparky
