I'm about to buy a new car. I'm an avid fisherman, and I carry a lot of gear. My CR-V gets pretty cluttered, so I am upgrading to a Passport, after considering various options.I have limited DIY skills, but I'd like to learn. I'd like to make a system of drawers like you see on YouTube. This is not for stealth camping, but I would like to be able to sleep in it. I'd like to build drawers that open from the trunk and maybe two that open from the passenger doors, one for each door. If not drawers, a cubby. I'd like to use real drawer slides. Is there something I am not considering? Where do I start? I don't have any power saws, so I'll have to rent or buy one. I would like to make something a bit nicer than pic rel.
you can skip some steps and use ikea cabinets
>>3001385be honest - you are "upgrading" your life by living in a van
Probably not what you want to hear, but it sounds like you're looking for a truck. Slide out drawer systems are nothing new for trucks. You could put a cap on the bed and do whatever you need to do in there.
>>3001385why drawers and not just cupboards?
I'd probably put casters on the drawers like trundle beds. The effort to build dedicated cabinets and mount the glides is wasted on cramped van life.
>>3001385you lay a sheet of plywood on the floor of you car away from the edge and you a stick with a marker on one end and you drag it along the side you want to mirror just like those fuckin beaner diy yt shorts
>>3001385not this fucking shit again
>>3001454Living in a vehicle is extremely cringe and gay.
