I feed ducks at a local pond daily. About 2000 calories worth of soaked pigeon feed.I plan on harvesting one of the ducks every couple weeks to maintain the ecological balance. Are there any hunters here thwt have tips for killing and preparing a duck in the scenario i described? I have no way of hanging the duck somewhere to ripen so my plan is adapting a chicken soup recipe and relying on a long cooking time to make the meat tender.
If you didn't feed them, they would balance themselves. The only reason there's more than usual is because you're artificially inflating resources. Also, duck meat is nasty as shit

>>3001585>I plan on harvesting one of the ducks every couple weeksWhere are you? This maybe illegal.
>>3001585Try to grab an egg when you find a nest. Very tasty.
>>3001593It is. I dont care.
>>3001585post pics of its cloaca. then stick your finger inside and take pics
>taking ducks from the park to eatIsn't this what brown people in the UK do? LOL
>>3001588duck is delicious you megapleeb
>>3001585can't help you with that, but if you need advice on how to paint them blue call me
>>3001628You blue ducks?
>>3001585There is zero sportsmanship in feeding wild game.'Hunters' will probably be reluctant about aiding you in any sort of way.You should probably ask about poachers.
>>3001616I have a suspicion that you're confusing indian runner ducks with native ducks. In that case you shouldn't be berating others. In case you unironically enjoy native ducks from the hunt your taste is just very very different.
>>3001585>hanging the duck somewhere to ripenem.. you need to bleed it anyways so just jerryrig a thing to hang it off of. i've never gutted a duck but it should be just like a fish, start from the anus. good luck anon. china has a lot of good waterfowl recipes. you should always try to kill the youngest ducks because they have the best meat, the older ducks will taste like shit. please post pics. duck soup sounds really bad, i wouldnt recommend its too oily. fry a duck by basting it in oil, crisping the skin, and putting it in an oven letting the fat render out. i recommend using a pellet gun to harvest and not a bb i
>>3001658>bleed itfaster way:attach rope at feet of live bird, cut head off cleanly and whirl above headcenteipedal force and beating heart accelerate the process AND you don't need a place to hang
>>30015851. You may not be the only person feeding those ducks, and you have no way of knowing what those people are feeding the ducks. Also, those ducks are eating other things (i.e., trash) when you're not present.2. If you don't have the means or the space to properly process an animal carcass, then don't kill it. Take the money that you're spending on feed and use it to buy meat.
