I want to place a 80x30x45cm fishtank (150kg tops) on a 3.8mm 80cm deep 38mm worktop supported by ikea alex drawer and ikea solid leg (due to 22cm overhang on back). Ai keeps telling me that will cause a micro bend and shatter the glass. Is this true? 2h ago he was telling me how its perfectly fine
>>3002250Bro, for real? You are really trusting AI for this shit? Shit.Anyway, yeah, don't partially support a fish tank. No overhangs. Make sure you have the entire base properly supported.
>>3002250this homo uses AI!
>Max. load 12 kg (26 lb)and you want to put 300 lbs of water on it? are you retarded? and you are asking chat gpt?
She's right, the water weight won't handle the load
>>3002250You are using a cheap shit LLM and don't know how to ask engineering questions, you're not going to get good outcomes. The ikea shit you're buying has way lower load ratings. The ALEX drawer is rated 50kg total load, the leg depends on type but definitely not 100kg. This doesn't need engineering, just looking at labels. Weld up proper legs for the worktop and then put the drawer under it if you want to use the space.
>>3002250ignore the luddite retards crying about AI the AI is right, you will want a foam mat and something sturdy not cardboard ikea shit to put it on
>Jarvis load up my fish torture simulation.>Safety protocols off.
>>3002264you are the fucking retard for just looking at what IKEA says and not checking if there's real life examples that prove that the actual load can be much higher and that people frequently use this popular drawer for desk setups>>3002336What I said to the last guy, but minus the insults. I'm renting a wag(i)e pod in the city and dont have time to diy my own desk. Just wanna deco my room for the next seven or more months ill be staying here.3002340this is one of the exceptional ikea shits3002284>sheHow progressive I KNEEL (under water weight)3002253As you can see I am not making a final decision based on AI3002344jej
>>3002362I have one of those ALEX shitboxes and I wouldn't trust it with a 150kg load. As long as it's very static (you don't bump into it or try standing on the same desk) it can probably handle 150kg, but it's pushing it. Just because someone else did it doesn't mean it's automatically a good idea.
>>3002362>and that people frequently use this popular drawer for desk setupsmost people aren't loading their desktop with 300 pounds concentrated in a 80 x 80 cm area. ikea alex is particle board crap that will sag over time, and it doesn't appear to have any substantial cross-member support to stabilize shear load stresses. you really think it's wise to risk the lives of fish and ~100 liters of water all over the floor?
>>3002250Idk anything about fish tanks. All of your pictures show tanks directly on the drawers. All compression. If your table top is genuinely solid wood then i wouldn't worry. If it's proper IKEA cardboard then don't put a fish tank on it in the middle. Is the load rating really 50kg lol. I would never stand on a desk but I'd stand on a desk directly above the drawers without hesitationYou could just try the tank without the fish in it first.
>>3002379Well the top plate is particleboard but a good one for kitchen use @38mm >>3002369>>3002375ok I COMPROMISED I've decided a 60x30x45cm tank thats like 120kg (265lbs)
>>3002250>Ai keeps telling me that will cause a micro bend and shatter the glass. Is this true? 2h ago he was telling me how its perfectly fineIf you tell it that it's wrong it will change its mind and apologise. AI is dumb shit for retards.
>>3002439>be dumb shit>use dumb shit AI>ask dumb shit question>get dumb shit answer>"lol AI is dumb shit"
>>3002441>be retarded>use any AIhere I simplified it for you
>>3002650My AI girlfriend has produced more useful code than the entirety of /g/ combined.
>>3002362just decorate with something other than a fish tank, it will be a pain in the ass to move it in 7 months anyway
>>3002656Based AIfu enjoyer
>>3002891It is 7 months. bruh living is hard ull die in 60-80 years anyway, just kys now :^)
