Anyone here making their own tools or machines for hobbies where shit is either so niche nobody makes it or it's just 3x the price for no reason other than the low demand?I'm getting into Slot Cars because a lot of estate sales are making it cheap as hell again. But I've had to buy so much shit from 3d printers; a burnout battery pad, a gear/ axle ballancer, a tire and rim straightener, weights...So I started making stuff. I copied this vacuum box very easily so I can make bodies. What else can or should I reasonably make? Tire making machine?

It seems my hobby lathe and a bolt on slide tool rail will cut them from a roll.Making a material roll itself isn't hard either, so it can get more autisms per mile.

When you want to feel a modicum less homosexual about this hobby, you can point out some numbers "at scale", so I'm "engineering for 750mph at scale". It's very much automotive design theory and sometimes classic auto designers are HUGE slot car nerds.
