>fell for the new construction meme>moved in>immediately noticed super strong chemical smells>eyes constantly burn >sore throat>difficulty breathing>tried opening up windows and putting in fans>doesn't appear to be making much a difference>bought one of those airtfilters from shartmart>didn't helpIs there anyway to eliminate the fumes? I don't really want to drop $1k on one of those high end medical air filtration systems, but I literally feel like I'm dying
>>3002542wooden doors block gas, anon. All the fumes below window level are retained because of the doors.
>>3002542even 3rd worlders allow new builds to sit vacant for at least 6 months. the off-gases from paint/laminate/varnishes etc will give you cancer. you probably have it already.
>>3002542>doesn't make a difference>didn't help>the fumesReminds me of my time at uni, working with and for the RF lab. We'd constantly get calls about radio transmissions making people sick or even how someones neighbour was pointing devices at them to do all sorts of weird stuff. So there was this lady who insisted she can see a cell tower out of her window at home and it made her all kinds of sick. She explained she knows it's the cellular because when she visits her sister, where there is no cell tower, she doesn't get sick.>Erm do you have service when visiting your sisterYes...>Check with the authority where the tower is in that town.>They hid it in the church tower, because neat, simple, effective and it was possible there. It's not uncommon.>The cell tower is much closer to her residence there than the one at her home.Power of imagination.
>>3002554perhaps power of the church actually cleanses these waves
>>3002558The next guy even had the federal authorities over to conduct measurements. He then called to explain he needs the universities help because of course his neighbour who is behind all this would shut down his machine for the duration an official looking van was parked in the street, hence his request for us to leave quarter million dollar equipment unattended in his house so he could finally prove his neighbour is using directed energy weapons to create all sorts of discomforts.Sure it's the lack of a church.
Several things in the house can offgas:>paint>cabinet finishes>fresh-run vinyl flooring>adhesives>formaldehydeSome people are more sensitive to some VOCs than others, but generally, standards in manufacturing are such that most products are low VOC and you shouldn't have issues like this barring sensitivity to specific compounds.A little different if the house was insulated with spray foam. That shit is a multi-component chemical reaction that requires exact mixing. If the application wasn't perfect, then the base layer doesn't cure, fucks up everything that goes on top, and the whole thing is fucked forever and the house has to be rebuilt. Literally rebuilt. Because spray foam can not be completely removed. So I'd check for that first and if you have spray foam insulation START TALKING TO ATTORNEYS and be ready for a very brutal next 4-5 years while that all plays out.
>>3002548Pray for OP
>>3002554>>3002559These simple people need to burn down the godless 5G towers and reinstate land lines.
Have a similar issue. Could you just make one of these meme boxes and fill it with activated carbon?
>>3002542Do you have an ERV or mechanical ventilation that you don't turn on?
>>3002560Oof. I bet it's this. Ops complaint lines up with everything I've read about spray foam.
>>3002542Dust allergy?Just how new is the construction?
>breathe in VOC’s >notice your body having awful reaction to it>see price of proper filtration>choose to die Thank you for your service OP
>>3002560>>3002814my immidiate thought alsonot sure why peolpe fall for the sprayfoam meme when conventional is usually cheaper
>>3002542sell the house and build a cob cottage
>>3002542Wear a p100 mask with VOC filter and live with the windows wide open.
>>3002542get one of those chinese meters that measure voc, formaldehide and similar shit, maybe it can help you pinpoint the culprit that would make solutions more obvious.>>3002554my family was always sickly before i rf insulated the wall toward transmitters of rf pollution (no idea what was the source). and i'm not a 5g conspiracy theorist, nor i believed rf affects people beforehand
>>3002717No. The fan will not have nearly enough static pressure to get air to move through the carbon.Move out for a few months, let the VOCs off gas, vent the air, move back in.
one more time i have to speak up and call you all fucking morons. i hate the lack of knowledge here so much. Drywall is a VAPOR BARRIER.op cant handle the smell of fresh paint or carpet. one of the two. But the idea the cookie cutter fucking house that was the same as the rest in his cookie cutter neighborhood is somehow unliveable for 6 months and you all are circle jerking around spray foam in enclosed cavities that can't make it into the conditioned space is par for the course as well as being mind blowingly retarded. unsaveable
>>3003415additionally, the VOC content of the latex paint is equivalent to the cumulative iq of every poster up until these last two posts: zilch. people used to say lurk moar if by opening your mouth you revealed glaring incompetence. im just going to call you faggots
>>3003046Explain to me the spray foam meme. It's just expanding polyurethane foam. I use A and B for insulation attachment all the time, and expanding polyurethane foam isn't all that different. Tweaks to how much isocyanurate and type of blowing agent. CCM Flexible Dash or OMG Ollyfil/Ollybond has zero smell.
>>3003454>paying a highschool dropout to do industry scale polymer chemistry inside your insulated, minimally ventilated, homewhat could possibly go wrong?
>>3003472The manufacturer does the chemical engineering, tard fren. The only thing the retards to is operate the machine that sprays the foam. Spray foam and adhesive sprayer rigs are obscenely expensive, and as I understand it actual spray foam is temperature sensitive (which the rig directly controls). I will say that tards with canisters of A and B sans spray rig can absolutely fuck things up.>Doesn't shake can>Spraying while on it's side>Exhausts blowing agent and just spraying one componentBut who is doing spray foam insulation with canisters of A and B? It's all spray rig as far as I know. So, again...explain to me the spray foam meme because you never actually answered my question. Do people have walls filled with liquid isocyanurate or what?
>>3003415>Drywall is a VAPOR BARRIER.lol, the type of retards visiting diy these days
>>3003473yes
>>3003476Wouldn't that be really fucking obvious?
>>3003713So, I answered my own question. It's a mixing issue with "Unredacted Methylene Diphenyl Diisocyanate".
>>3003416no FUCK YOUIt's literally giving me asthma. I woke up feeling like I was a pack a day smoker. I left for a few days and cleared up. It's not just the unpleasantness of the odor, it's fucking up my health.
