Everybody needs rags. What's your rag/towel set-up for your /diy/? Do you reuse worn out linens or whatever? Are any of those blue shop towel brands better than the others?

Here lately I have been picking one holey work shirt from my wardrobe and leaving it in the pickup for my dirty work shirt. Change into it before doing anything nasty and then put my clean shirt back on before running to town or heading home. After a few weeks of that it goes straight to the rag pile and I pick another shirt to put on death row.

I've got a huge box of 1000 disposable woven napkins that restaurants use. They're pretty tough but not all that absorbent due to their thinnness. I also save old shirts.

I get worn discarded bed linens, bath towels and similar from my family. I then cut them into decent sized rags. Never used any of the store bought rags/towels. Works just fine for me.

I have about a decade's supply of the brown paper bag towels left from when I was a security guard at a car parts plant and kept telling the different janitors that we needed a roll of paper towels

these are 10$/50i'm a service plumber and always carry one in my pocket, buy a roll every few weeks on company cardevery day one comes home in my pocket and goes in the laundry for home usei have too manyit isn't even worth saving old shirts/socks at this pointthey're quitie absorbant and strong and get lots of reuability. only complaint is because microfiber, if they fall in grass/yards they grab all the leaves and sticks and it's a menace to remove so they get binned
