This is my fathers grill , i took a picture of this today after he planned a get together with the surprise of it being in this condition since he neglected it.His birthday is coming up on october i would like to gift this to him.
And this is his charcoal grill smoker. Its condition isn’t all that bad but an upgrade could be better.Now what brands or affordable options can one buy ?? And is it better to get him a gas grill or another drum barrel smoker that uses coals ? ? Do they make hybrid versions with both gas and coal use ?

Grill looks fine if someone would clean the grates and put them back where they're supposed to be. If the grates, heat spreaders, or burners are fucked up get replacements online. Unless the chassis of the grill is rusted through just spruce it up for him if you want to do something nice.The smoker looks fine too, just unused. Maybe replace the firebox tray and clean up the rust with a wire wheel and high-temp paint. If you really need to buy something get him some grill covers to take the abuse from sitting outside.
