I once had a job as a dumb kid where we had to cut shitloads of stacks that were man-high sheets or rebar mesh. We were at it for weeks, blew up literally hundreds of cutoff discs, not a single one threw a fragment large enough to do more than a little superficial wound.If you are rocking the big boy grinder with massive discs then I get it, I would be wearing all the gear and have the guard on, but these little battery grinders, you can run perfectly fine with no guard and a pair of safety glasses.
