best budget tool brands?

Picture related. 20 inch American made drill press with power feed? $400. Skill 77 circular saw with brand new carbide tipped blade? $10. Cordless Milwaukee Sawzall with 3 batteries? $25. A 5 gallon bucket filled with Proto, Blackhawk, and MAC wrenches, sockets, ratchets, and extensions? $1 a pound.A Craftsman 6 inch jointer from the 1950's? Free. Only had to drive around the block to a neighbors and pick it up. Networking. My neighbors, who I actually speak to, shocker in this day and age, know I'm into old tools. When one heard a friend was clearing out a shop they put me in contact. I've gotten tools from co-works too. Hell, I've given neighbors and co-workers tools too. When someone is selling buckets of tools for $1 a pound you end up with extras.
>>3007441a lot of the slop on amazon is very usable, same goes for harbor freight. just use common sense and don't buy shit that is way too good a deal to be true. no clue on budget power tools though, i would avoid generics personally.

Budget brands like Bosch blue, Milwaukee red and DeWalt yellow are all the same and perfectly adequate for light to moderate diy-use. Brand only becomes relevant if you’re going pro tier and you need a specialist tool/tool company, i.e. Festool for cabinetry but Mafell for carpentry, Hilti for construction site/concrete stuff, Wacker or Duss if you only need a hammer or drill and so on.
I got some cheap ching chong handheld chainsaw off walmart.com for $20 bucks that came with two batteries and three chains. It has held up surprisingly well for being 100% Chinesium
>>3007458Man I wish we had more based estate sales around here. Most everything is cringey old furniture and plates and precious moments figurines... I've gotten lucky a few times at yard sales and estate sales. Mostly I don't hit them up anymore due to the fact that I already have just about everything I'd ever want or need. I do score big time on craigslist/marketplace and at auctions. Even been kinda trying to avoid some of the auctions here lately to cut down on impulse buys. It's all fun and games until you have to sort through, find a suitable place for, and unload an entire gooseneck trailer full of steel...

She'll run them generally from Thursday or Friday to Sunday and Sunday afternoon I can potentially get a decent score.The best one I've had by far was after the old guy who ran the Western Auto in our town died and had tons of Wizard in his shed
Harbor freight or home depot. They both have good warranties. I avoid lowes, they're always really picky about warranty. Mostly HF tho
